YTL Land’s Sandy Island wins Best Residential Title at FIABCI Singapore Property Awards 2012
The win marks the fifth accolade for the Sentosa Cove waterfront development
Sandy Island, YTL Land’s maiden luxury development in Singapore, has been honoured at the 2nd FIABCI Singapore Property Awards. Last night YTL Land walked away with the Best Residential (Low Rise) Award for the highly acclaimed development. The win recognises YTL Land’s excellence in design and architecture and means Sandy Island qualifies for the prestigious FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Awards 2013 in Taichung, Taiwan in May.

Sandy Island is a rare collection of 18 uber-luxurious villas nestled in a tropical rainforest setting at Sentosa Cove, Singapore’s exclusive gated waterfront community. It was designed by internationally celebrated architect Claudio Silverstrin, who is behind the Giorgio Armani flagship stores around the world. Sandy Island’s lush landscape is the work of world renowned Australian landscape designer, Jamie Durie.
To date, Sandy Island has garnered four other wins, at the SEA Property Awards 2011 for Best Architectural Design (South East Asia) and Best Housing Development (Singapore), and the CNBC Asia Pacific Property Awards 2009 for Best Development (Singapore) and Best Development Marketing (International).
FIABCI has previously recognised other YTL Land developments in Kuala Lumpur with five FIABCI Malaysia Property Awards. These include The Maple at Sentul West, Sentul East & West, Lake Edge at Puchong, Andalucia at Pantai Hillpark as well as the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac).
Now a winner at this year’s FIABCI Singapore Property Awards, YTL Land can participate in the FIABCI world competition. The internationally recognised FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Awards recognizes projects from more than 60 member countries which demonstrate excellence in architecture and design, and tangible benefits to the community or environment. FIABCI Singapore introduced the Singapore Property Awards last year to recognise local achievements in real estate and development.
