Youth Revelation Freestyle Festival 2013

The third and final installment of Youth Revelation Freestyle Festival 2013 will hit Maju Junction Mall this coming Saturday (28th September) with The Beat Down (group hip hop dance competition) and a live performance by one of the judges, Mizz Nina.

The Beat Down will also be judged by Snuki Lee of Mo-Blow Crew, a famous dance crew from Japan. Dance crews from Malaysia and ASEAN are expected to showcase their swag and artistic moves at Maju Junction Mall this coming Saturday to win RM10,000 in cash and a trip to Taiwan to participate in the International New Taipei B-Boy City Competition!

Youth Revelation Freestyle Festival 2013 was heated up with the festival’s first two competitions, BMX RAMPage (BMX Challenge) and Skate It Up (Skateboard Challenge) on 21st September (Saturday). Both competitions were held at Maju Junction and gathered a total of 92 youths which include youths from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Japan, England and France. Day 2 (21st September) of Maju Junction Mall’s Youth Revelation Freestyle Festival 2013 saw two more of the festivals lined up competitions igniting the festival; Graffiti Warzone (Graffiti War) and Battle-B (B-Boy Showdown) which assembled a total of 70 youths which include youths from Malaysia, Indonesia, Sudan and Korea.

Initiated by Maju Junction in 2012, the Youth Revelation Freestyle Festival is a platform for youths to engage in healthy street activities and hopefully to eradicate the ‘lepak’ habit. This unique event focuses on the urban and street culture as it offers a range of thrilling and exhilarating freestyle activities for the youths. Maju Junction also aims to capture the potentials of the ‘subversive’ youths by providing a positive outlet for them to unleash their creativity and talents as well as exposing and introducing them to local and overseas freestyle icons.

This year, Maju Junction is offering a total cash prize of RM64, 000 to be won. To make this event more worthwhile, Maju Junction will also sponsor the first prize winners of Battle-B and The Beat Down to represent Youth Revelation in the upcoming International New Taipei B-Boy City Competition. First prize winners for BMX RAMPage and Skate It Up will also be given the opportunity to represent Youth Revelation in the HAGE (Hobbies, Adventure and Gears Expo) Show in Jakarta, Indonesia.

To suit this year’s event that is bigger and better, Maju Junction has selected a line of highly experienced and reputable local and international individuals to judge the competitions. Malaysian X-Games athlete Johari Fitry, and Danil Gunawan, President of Indonesia BMX Association, were judges for Skate It Up and BMX RAMPage respectively. B-boy Kid Nasty from Vietnam, Bboy JK from Malaysia and Yumida Sumitra (a.k.a B-boy BadBoy) from Singapore paid their dues as judges for Battle-B while Malaysia’s renowned graffiti artist, Anokayer, had worn the judges’ hat for Aerosol Warzone. Malaysian solo artiste, Mizz Nina and choreographer, dancer and a member of Japan’s top crew, Mo-Blow, Snuki Lee, will be judging The Beat Down.

Maju Junction welcomes youths from all around Malaysia as well as the Asian region to the mall to witness and join the hype that is Youth Revelation Freestyle Festival 2013 for unlimited excitement and a chance to win lucrative cash prizess!
