The Benalla streetscape was transformed over the weekend as the Wall to Wall Festival set the town abuzz.
Thousands of people flocked to the town to watch some of the best street artists in the world turn the walls, buildings and silos of Benalla into living works of art.
A highlight of the festival was the completion of the Goorambat silo project, where street artist Dvate painted a giant mural on the silo, highlighting the plight of the Barking Owl, which is endangered in the region.
Wall to Wall Festival Chair, Roxanne Demasson said this year’s festival was the best yet.
“Benalla was buzzing all weekend, with people coming from across Victoria and interstate to watch the transformation of our town,” she said.
“It was such a strong lineup of artists and they all brought something unique to Benalla. As a local I am excited to be able to experience these artworks everyday for the next year.
“I would call on anyone who missed out over the weekend to come down and check out what is happening in Benalla. We are now well and truly cemented on the world stage as a leader in street art.”
Festival Artistic Director, Shaun Hossack said that the diversity of artists painting at this festival would be hard to top.
“We had such an amazing selection of artists from Australia and across the world bringing their skills to the walls of Benalla,” he said.
“I am extremely proud that the festival was able to highlight the many talented women street artists who are out there.”
