U MOBILE CROWNS BOWLING CHAMPIONS
Telco Strengthens Commitment to Local Athletes at Recent U Mobile Kuala Lumpur International Open Bowling Championship
U Mobile Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s most dynamic and innovative telco service provider continues its commitment in promoting unity through sports as the company proudly took on the title sponsorship at the recent U Mobile Kuala Lumpur International Open Bowling Championship 2011.
Held at Mega Lanes, Endah Parade, Sri Petaling from the 22nd to the 29th of October, the tournament drew 210 participants from all over the country except for Kelantan and Terengganu, including national bowlers from the SEA Games bound squad and the national junior squad.
The tournament also took on an international feel with 20 participants from Egypt, Kazakhstan, Philippines and Singapore.
Speaking at the prize giving ceremony, Lisy Lee, Head of Corporate Communications, U Mobile Sdn Bhd said, “We’re delighted to once again partner with the KL Tenpin Association to provide a platform for Malaysian athletes to compete and realize their true potential.”
“As title sponsor and Malaysia’s most innovative telco service provider, we aim to inspire and create opportunities for Malaysia’s up-and-coming bowlers in a full-fledged and conducive training environment. This is an important measure to ensure the continued success of Malaysian bowling achievements and also our way to show deep appreciation to the thousands of Malaysians who have supported U Mobile over the years,” added Lisy.
Since 2010, U Mobile has been sponsoring four bowling tournaments organised by the KL Tenpin Bowling Association, part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative in championing the development of local sports talent.
