With everything that has been going around in the world, TROPHY KNIVES decided that it would be appropriate to re-record and re-release its 2016 track “We Can’t Be Saved”. The music video was shot in the four walls of their respective homes when the quarantine was eased, by Nadeem Salam from Skesh Entertainment.
Chris#2’s footage was self-shot in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The video was then edited by Samuel Shapiro – famed for his work with Fever 333, Underoath and Bring Me The Horizon.
The song is a reaction to the travesty that is 2020. The lyric forces us to take a good hard look in the mirror, take accountability and learn to unlearn our mistakes. What do we consume? Who do we elect as leaders? When do we speak out against crimes against minorities? Why do we care? Are we the architects of our downfall?
Written and produced by Trophy Knives, “We Can’t Be Saved” is out now on all digital platforms. 50% of all proceeds go to the Black Lives Matter movement as well as the Girls Not Brides organisation.
In November last year, Trophy Knives released their first full-fledged album called “Glass Ceiling” to rave reviews.
