Time change for ntv7’s Mandarin news
Come 9 June, the originally scheduled Mandarin 7 (ntv7’s news in Mandarin) at 9.30 p.m. will be moved to 10.30 p.m. This move will allow all football fans in Malaysia the opportunity to enjoy the delayed telecasts of the UEFA European Football Championship offered by ntv7. The football craze will take place from 8 June till 1 July.
“The push of Mandarin 7 timing during Euro is timely because this allows us to enhance our content and provide latest updates on other matches within Mandarin 7 during this period,” said Ahmad Izham Omar, COO, TV Networks, Media Prima Berhad.
The news anchors for Mandarin 7 include Chan Wei Wei, Chee Kah Teik, Tiang Kah Chee, Lim She Ting, Chew Siew Yeong, Tan Ley Teng, Lee Siad Huey, Yong Yu Xi, and Peh Kien Ming.
Meanwhile, ntv7’s special Mandarin news edition on international news reports, “Global Watch”, will also be affected by the airing of the delayed matches. Its Friday edition will be taking a temporary break to make way for “Hong Movie Fridays” which have also been pushed to 11 p.m. from its original airing time at 10 p.m. Viewers however, will still be able to catch its Monday to Thursday editions at 12 midnight.
The live and delayed matches on TV3 and ntv7 consist of 16 live matches including the opening ceremony, the quarter finals, semifinals, and the final. TV3 will be tasked with providing the 16 live matches. ntv7 on the other hand, will feature delayed telecasts daily at 8.30 – 10.30 p.m. Below is the schedule for the airing of the delayed matches on ntv7:
