THE REVELLERS TO OPEN AT SIMPLE PLAN CONCERT
Local band winner of Tune Talk competition
Now we have it! Local band The Revellers lead as the champion of Tune Talk’s ‘Open for Simple Plan Band Competition Final’. The triumph bestowed the band with the golden spot as the opening act for Simple Plan concert this Saturday 14th January 2012 at KL Live, Jalan Sultan Ismail.
Tune Talk CEO Jason Lo says: “This is a very exciting moment for us as Simple Plan is the first concert for our “no Big Deal Lah” concert series. As you know, Tune Talk will be bringing international act every month for the year of 2012!”
“This is our second time having band serach competition, the first being Incubus and we had an amazing response from the people out there for both competitions. We’d like to congratulate The Revellers for their win, and we hope that they will have a great time performing for the opening act.”
The concert is presented by Tune Talk Mobile Prepaid as part of its ‘No Big Deal Lah’ concert series.
The search for Simple Plan’s opening act kicked off with 20 bands submitting their videos on Tune Talk’s Facebook page. Five bands with the most number of ‘Likes’ were chosen to battle it out for the one and only spot. The Revellers were selected winners by Simple Plan themselves. The other contenders were Once Upon A Time there was a Sausage Named Bob, H.W.C., Heart-A-Tack and The Jespers.

Biography The Revellers
The Revellers is an Alternative Rock band that was put together since last year, 2010. The band members consist of Sheikh Eamir (Vocalist), PG (Lead Guitaistr), Ayid (Rhythmic Guitarist), Wan (Bass Guitarist) and Affendy (Drums). Their first single, “Perjuangan” was recorded in November 2010 and successfully have been aired locally through a recognizable radio broadcast, Hot.Fm. The Revellers are in the process of releasing their second single, this year titled “Kembali” which will be aired at the end of 2011. Interviews have been held by Hot.Fm and Nasi Lemak Kopi ‘O for The Revellers last year. On 1st January 2010, Ikhwan interviewed the band members on a radio segment “Hot.Fm, Kita Punya”. Three months later; in April 2010, The Revellers were interviewed again by Harian Metro. Publishing an article consisting of the band’s build up and obstacles faced. Alongside that, they were interviewed by a program named “Nasi Lemak Kopi ‘O Exclusive” which was aired on tonton.com in September 2011. Recently, a talk show known as Pop Gen invited The Revellers as their guests to discuss the prospects of progressing indie bands. This talk show will be aired next year, 2012. Previous performances from The Revellers include at venues ranging from Switchblade, KDU College, MMU, Sangria Island Club, Port Dickson, Times Square, Malaysia International fashion week(MIFW) MUST College. Besides performances held at respective sites, The Revellers are much known for their performances on the breakfast programme on TV9 known as “Nasi Lemak Kopi O”, which is aired weekly. The special broadcast from the channel was featured during their Anniversary Celebration. A recent production brought forward Sheikh Eamir (vocalist) as the main actor for a semi-drama series called “Cinta Stroberi Coklat” directed by Azma Aizal Yusof and is due to be released soon. Sheikh Eamir have been invited from a K-POP artiste name Alexander from ukiss to be the opening artiste for his very first solo showcase live in Malaysia.
