[dropcap]C[/dropcap]ome 10th February 2013, Malaysian music lovers will be treated to the honey coated vocals of renowned international ghazal star Pankaj Udhas, at the The Ghazal Maesto “Pankaj Udhas” Live In Malaysia 2013 concert which will be held at the Plenary Hall of the prestigious Putrajaya International Convention Centre at 7.30pm.
After almost a decade, the maestro is back to serenade his Malaysian fans with his soulful voice & harmonious melodies. Pankaj Udhas is an Indian singer, credited in the Indian music industry, along with other musicians like Jagjit Singh and Talat Aziz, with bringing the Ghazal style to the realm of popular music. His emotive and melancholic singing has been known to bring tears to his listeners’ eyes.
Udhas rose to fame for singing in the 1986 film Naam, in which his song “Chitthi Aayee Hai” became an instant hit. Following that, he has also performed as a playback singer for numerous films. He has recorded over 40 albums since then and tours the world as an accomplished ghazal singer. In 2006, Pankaj Udhas was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian award.
The highly anticipated and much awaited concert is presented and organised by experienced promoters Hitman Solutions & GHC Solutions, who were also responsible for bringing such luminary stars as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sonu Niigaam, Imran Khan & Master Saleem. Their most recent concert was the sold out Yo Yo Honey Singh, Jaz Dhami & Mafia Mundeer Live in Concert In Malaysia 2012 which ran like clockwork to a tremendous reception at KL Live in December last year.
According to Hitman Solutions CEO, Rohit Rampal, the concert will run for approximately 3 hours and will be backed up by at least eight musicians from India. He also added that PICC was selected as the venue for the concert for its beautiful and tranquil setting, as well as the excellent acoustic qualities of the Plenary Hall. “Pankaj Udhas is renown for his soothing and silky sweet vocals and PICC marks as one of the best venues to showcase his amazing talent.”
