TERRA NOVA is an epic adventure that follows a family’s journey back in time. In the year 2149, the world is dying; the planet is overdeveloped and overcrowded, with the majority of plant and animal life extinct. The future of mankind is in jeopardy, and its only hope for survival is in the distant past.
This 13-episode series centers on the “Shannon family” as they join the Tenth Pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova, the first colony established in this beautiful yet forbidding land. JIM SHANNON, played by Jason O’Mara (Band of Brothers, The Agency, Resident Evil: Extinction), a devoted father with a checkered past, guides his family through this new world of limitless beauty, mystery and terror. Upon the Shannon’s arrival, they are introduced to COMMANDER NATHANIEL TAYLOR (Stephen Lang from Avatar, Tombstone, Gettysburg and The Fugitive), the charismatic and heroic first pioneer and leader of the settlement. Taylor, warns the Shannon who include ELISABETH SHANNON played by Shelley Conn (Mistresses, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), JOSH SHANNON (Landon Liboiron), MADDY SHANNON (Naomi Scott) and ZOE (Alana Mansour), that while Terra Nova is a place of new opportunities and fresh beginnings, all is not as idyllic as it initially appears.
As the flagship channel of Fox International Channels, FOX enhances consumers viewing experience with the telecast of first and exclusive programmes and this is further augmented through the availability of dual language audios – English and Bahasa Malaysia, 24-hours, daily.

TERRA NOVA is the most ambitious drama series ever conceived. It is the biggest, best and most anticipated blockbuster series on FOX (Astro Channel 710) as it taps into the well established cross category appeal of Jurassic Park, Lost and Avatar. The series overall has cost the FOX International Channels a staggering US$70 million (RM219 million) to produce, with the pilot episode alone coming in at in excess of US$20 million (RM63 million). That equates to roughly US$200,000 (RM627,000) for every minute of action and a major investment on the part of FOX International Channels.
TERRA NOVA is produced by 20th Century Fox Television, Chernin Entertainment, DreamWorks Television and Kapital Entertainment. Steven Spielberg (Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park, E.T,), Peter Chernin (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Brannon Braga (Star Trek), René Echevarria (Star Trek), Jon Cassar, Aaron Kaplan (Made of Honor, You, Me & Dupree), Katherine Pope, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Craig Silverstein and Kelly Marcel serve as executive producers. TERRA NOVA was one of eight honorees in the Most Exciting New Series at the “Critics Choice Television Awards” voted by journalists who had seen the pilots.
