MALAYSIA’S FIRST EVER Mandarin Kids Model Search TV Competition – The Super Cute – will make its grand debut come November 8th on ntv7 (Channel 107), every Friday from 9.30pm to 10.30pm. So cute your brain might explode!
The 8-episode reality series is aimed at unearthing young Malaysian talents aged 4 to 9 years old. The one hour show is hosted by two of the country’s favourite hosts – Yoon Ng and Rickman Chia. The pairing of the two vibrant hosts is set to inject more fun into this brand new reality series.
“We are no strangers to shows like “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and Heidi Klum’s “Seriously Funny Kids” that were both aired on ntv7. These shows allow us to enjoy some of the hilarious and often insightful things that the kids do and say on the show, while witnessing how talented and creative they can be. It is these feel good family programmes that often draw the attention of our viewers, while inspiring us to also produce shows that ultimately opens up an avenue for kids in Malaysia to discover their hidden talents and exposing them to never-ending learning opportunities,” said Airin Zainul, Group General Manager of ntv7 & 8TV.
A string of auditions were carried out in the month of May at various locations including Selangor, Melaka and Penang with more than 800 participating kids. A total of 70 successful contestants were selected to go through to the second round of audition and only 20 of the best were given the golden ticket to compete for the coveted title. Only one out of these Top 20 contestants will be crowned “The Super Cute” champion at the end of the show. Winner of this show will be awarded with RM10,000 cash prize.
Aside from having an outstanding appearance and a bubbly personality, the contestants will also be evaluated based on their creativity, showmanship, and self-confidence through a number of challenges throughout the entire competition. The kids will be coached by experienced instructors and professionals of the industry. The competition also consists of a panel of judges made up of Lynn Lim (TV host and celebrity mom), Linda Ang (ex-radio announcer and consultant) as well as Asther Lau (famous children’s portrait photographer). These judges will also be giving coaching lessons to the contestants in this reality competition.
“ntv7 has always been a keen content provider and supporter of local kids shows including Mandarin Battle Star and Super Smart, which have garnered tremendous support from our viewers. We want to continue to inspire the younger generation through shows like these,” Airin added.
