About Sum 41
Sum 41’s career has been filled with highlights that extend well beyond the traditional punk band cliché. They’ve collaborated with Iggy Pop, Ludacris, Tommy Lee, Rob Haldford, Tenacious D and were invited to tour with heavy metal legends Motley Crue when they reunited. Since 1996, Sum 41 has been relentless, unapologetic, and unconcerned with musical boundaries. In the past, their music style has been described as an “eclectic meld of raucous punk-rock, thunderous heavy metal and straightforward rock.†Sum 41’s new album, Screaming Bloody Murder, feeds off this past and expands on it.
They have recently been labelled as one of the world’s best live bands. Deryck Whibley says he’s not concerned with these labels, but “all we’ve ever tried to do is play better live. It’s what makes us a band. At times, everything else is bullshit. Touring is something we constantly work on, and over 12 years we have continued to improve.†Sum 41 has also been unapologetic about their life-style off the stage. “We’re best-friends, we love to play music. And we also happen to be idiots. This hasn’t changed since high-school,†says drummer Stevo Jocz. According to Whibley, “Rock music has a long history of partying. We are no different.â€

About One Buck Short
Their story began eight years ago when the band debuted into the local scene with the smashing ‘That Day’ from their Where Is the Mouse?! EP released independently in 2003. As a result of the single and EP’s achievement, the band was nominated for the Best Newcomer Artist in the first ever hitz.fm Malaysian English Top Ten Awards in 2004 and again in 2006 for the Best Rock and Best Live Act in the whole of Malaysia. The band went into the studios to produce their full-length debut album, Halal & Loving It, under the hands of the talented award-winning producer and arranger, Greg Henderson. In next to no time, the first English single ‘Fast Times’ and their first ever Malay single ‘Kelibat Korupsi’ heavily permeated the airwaves across Asia.
Refusing to be at ease with just achieving success on local shores, One Buck Short worked hard towards aiming higher. Their efforts finally paid off when the band was hand-picked to support Grammy Award-nominated American rock band Fall Out Boy on their “Infinity on High†World Tour in Singapore. And not long after that, they recorded an exclusive MTV LIVE Showcase with Good Charlotte, where over 20,000 people showed up at the national stadium in Malaysia! The band has also supported top billboard rock acts like My Chemical Romance, Panic At The Disco and more while having toured and performed in Singapore, Philippines, Macau, Hong Kong, Australia and China. The band currently released their first ever Malay language album, Kampong Glam and the first single off the record, ‘Carilah Duit’ has become a monster hit on the airwaves.

Although the band formed in 2005, it was only in late 2006 that got them the attention they needed. Their participation in the hit TV show Blastoff helped kicked start their path to stardom. 2006 was indeed an exciting one for the band. Bunkface won first place for the Battle of the Bands competition in UNISEL organized by ROTTW and in the same year they snatched first place for the Battle of the Bands competition in Universiti Malaya.
