DIVA UNIVERSAL IS #1 WITH STRONG DEBUT OF COVERT AFFAIRS
Brand new spy drama, COVERT AFFAIRS boasted a solid debut last Thursday 17 February 2011 at 9pm. Its strongest performance in Malaysia propelled DIVA Universal to the #1 spot during its timeslot among English entertainment genre channels (non-movies, Astro 4+), as viewers lapped up the thrills, drama and romance in the scripted series starring Piper Perabo and executive produced by the director of the Borne trilogy.
DIVA Universal’s key demographic were clearly attracted to COVERT AFFAIRS as well. This group (Astro Females 20+, Astro Females 25 – 39, Astro Females, 15 – 44) delivered strong ratings, leading COVERT AFFAIRS to become the #2 top English Pay-TV show (non-sports) during its timeslot.
COVERT AFFAIRS drew over 4.9 million viewers when it debuted in the US and became the highest-rated scripted summer cable series in 2010. COVERT AFFAIRS was such a smash hit that the series was picked up for a second season, a month into its run. It airs first and exclusively on DIVA Universal in Asia.
