A test run takes an unexpected turn, however, when the starship encounters two vessels trapped inside the Nexus, a mysterious energy ribbon. During a perilous rescue attempt, Kirk is swept out into space. Seventy-eight years later, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the crew of the Enterprise-D find themselves at odds with the renegade scientist Tolian Soran (Malcolm McDowell) who is destroying the entire star systems. Only one man can help Picard stop Soran’s scheme… and he’s been dead for seventy-eight years.
Patrick Stewart resumes his role as Captain Picard in 1996’s FIRST CONTACT, which also stars Jonathan Frakes and Brent Spiner. Airing on November 10th at 11.00pm, the film took home the 1997 Saturn Award for Best Costumes, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress. Picard and the crew must work together to battle the Borg Queen before she assimilates all of mankind and changes history forever.
Meanwhile, 1998’s INSURRECTION which airs on 17th November, 11.00pm will see the crew of the Enterprise team plot against the inhabitants of a unique planet, where Captain Picard is forced to begin an open rebellion. The film was named the “Best Science Fiction” film in the 1999 Saturn Award.
Airing on 24th November, 11.00pm is NEMESIS which took home the Best Family Feature Film (Fantasy) in the Young Artist Award 2003.
