According to new Spotify data, music fans across Asia have spent over a million minutes listening to music on Spotify Connect, the smart home music experience that gives you total control of your music through Wi-Fi-connected speakers, laptops and TVs.
Users in the region listen to most of their music through Spotify Connect in the evenings and weekends, according to latest research. Pop is the most popular music genre streamed on Spotify Connect, followed by Indie Rock and R&B.

Spotify Connect has become an increasingly popular way to control music throughout your home. Available within the Spotify app, Connect turns your mobile, tablet or desktop into a powerful remote control that lets you choose the music and volume setting for your chosen device in any room.
Separately, Spotify also recently teamed up with reality TV show The Apartment – Celebrity Edition to showcase how Spotify Connect can ‘design’ a seamless music experience.
In Episode 8 of The Apartment – Celebrity Edition, fans in Asia had a glimpse as to how Spotify Connect works. Celebrities involved in the show also shared their insights on how having the right music at your home helps create the perfect atmosphere.
Jamie Durie, one of the show’s judges said: “Music and design are best mates as far as I’m concerned. For me the whole design process usually happens with music as my partner in crime. I listen to music while designing and sometimes a certain song will inspire me and get the creative juices flowing when I’m stuck.”
