With this in mind, Samsung joins Malaysian Official Designer’s Association (MODA) in celebrating its 23rd Anniversary to discover the infinite possibilities of style and innovation. Samsung comes in to support the passion and new generation of creativity in young talents with the latest initiative – Samsung Innovation – Style Awards.
“This support encourages the growth of aspiring young talents in their field of interest in the fashion industry,” said Vincent Chong, Head of Mobile Phone Division, Samsung Malaysia Electronics.
Young Malaysians will be put to test with an opportunity to showcase their creative abilities in an environment that mirrors the real synergies and workings of the fashion industry. This opportunity gives participants an invaluable experience that prepares them for their future, whilst challenging them to innovate and apply their creativity to design apparels that are not only unique but resonate with everyday life.

This year, the participants are required to showcase two different tasks – a three total look from apparel design, hair style and make-up that best expresses the theme, Innovation & Technology. The second design will showcase a case cover, designed for Samsung’s latest flagship, the GALAXY S4.
“The Samsung GALAXY S4 is a best-in-class smartphone that aims to make life richer, simpler and fuller. The GALAXY S4 serves as a Life Companion to walk with them on a journey that spark ideas and inspiration in the participants’ designs,” Chong explains.
The ever-growing partnership of fashion and technology is catapulting the design world into a whole new dimension. The Samsung Innovation – Style Award initiative looks over the horizon of what fashion and technology may look like. It pushes the boundaries of style, design and innovation to bring people the best-in-class fashion couture.
Samsung will present the winning team of the Total Look Award with a Samsung GALAXY S4 device each. Meanwhile, the top three Samsung GALAXY S4 case cover designs will be rewarded with a RM1,000 cash prize for each designer.
