Prudential Malaysian Eye mengumumkan 21 nama artis untuk pameran di Kuala Lumpur. Penganjur PRUDENTIAL MALAYSIAN EYE, Parallel Contemporary Art (PCA) dengan sukacitanya mengumumkan 21 artis kontemporari Malaysia yang terpilih untuk mempamerkan karya seni mereka di pameran yang bakal dibuka pada 29 Mac hingga ke hujung April di Whitebox, Publika.

PRUDENTIAL MALAYSIAN EYE dikurasikan oleh Serenella Ciclitira, pengasas Global Eye Programme; Nigel Hurst, CEO Saatchi Gallery, London; Chang Tsong-Zung, iaitu pengarah Hanart TZ Gallery serta profesor undangan China Art Academy. Pameran ini akan mempamerkan karya-karya seni yang merangkumi pelbagai media, seperti lukisan, pemasangan multimedia, arca serta cetakan gambar.
Serenella Ciclitira berkata: “Kita telah menerima sokongan padu daripada komuniti seni tempatan dalam pencarian bakat muda dan baharu di Malaysia. Kami harap PRUDENTIAL MALAYSIAN EYE bukan sahaja bakal menjadi platform komprehensif bagi seni kontemporari Malaysia malah memberi pandangan baru kepada kepelbagaian kisah-kisah Malaysia yang kini boleh dikongsi serata dunia.”
Prudential, pembekal insurans hayat terkemuka yang merupakan penaja pameran tersebut telah bekerjasama dengan British Council untuk mengadakan program pendidikan kreatif yang akan melibatkan pelajar-pelajar sekolah menengah dan pelajaran tinggi di Malaysia. Forum dan perbincangan secara langsung dan digital bersama artis-artis dan kurator akan memberi peluang kepada para pelajar untuk mempelajari seni kontemporari tempatan yang dipamerkan di PRUDENTIAL MALAYSIAN EYE.
Program pendidikan kreatif ini dimanfaatkan dengan pengalaman United Kingdom yang mahir dalam pendidikan kreatif dan ini dilancarkan dengan menggalakkan kreativiti melalui medium seni dan bahasa Inggeris.

PRUDENTIAL MALAYSIAN EYE merupakan sebahagian daripada Global Eye Programme (GEP), sebuah badan organisasi tanpa dana yang berdedikasi untuk menyokong artis baharu. Ia telah ditubuhkan oleh PCA dan Saatchi Gallery. Inisiatif ini juga akan melancarkan buku rujukan seni “Malaysian Eye: Contemporary Malaysian Art” yang bakal menonjolkan pelbagai karya seni daripada 75 artis Malaysia.
Pameran dan buku akan dilancarkan oleh Ketua Eksekutif Prudential Corporation Asia Barry Stowe, kurator Serenella Ciclitira dan Nigel Hurst dan pengasas PCA David Ciclitira pada 28 Mac.

Pada ketika ini, Asian Eye telah mengadakan 17 pameran yang telah mendapat sambutan dari lebih daripada 2 juta orang serata dunia.

Sempena PRUDENTIAL MALAYSIAN EYE, hotel rasmi The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur akan mengadakan pameran seni satelit untuk menunjukkan sokongan dan galakan terhadap artis tempatan dan aspirasi mereka. Sepanjang April, pengunjung dapat mengembara melalui “Art Promenade”, laluan seni yang menular melalui 3 aras hotel. Pameran ini akan menonjolkan karya seni artis terpilih PRUDENTIAL MALAYSIAN EYE. Pameran satelit ini juga akan memaparkan menu The Ritz-Carlton, pilihan koktel dan juga pakej penginapan yang bertemakan seni sempena pameran ini.

ABOUT PARALLEL CONTEMPORARY ART
Parallel Contemporary Art is a not for profit organisation, founded by David and Serenella Ciclitira in 2009. PCA has launched three major ‘Eye’ initiatives, Korean Eye, Indonesian Eye, and Hong Kong Eye, to provide a platform for emerging contemporary artists internationally.
