All the stops are pulled in this celebrated season featuring a live runway show in the middle of Times Square, a dream spot to showcase their creations in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, as well as a star-studded list of guest judges including Anna Sui, Zoe Saldana and Jennifer Hudson.”

In this 14-part season, 16 of the most talented budding designers in America have their eyes on some of the most attractive prizes ever offered on PROJECT RUNWAY. The last fashion designer standing on the runway is entitled to USD$100,000 from L’Oreal Paris to start his own line, a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine, a 2013 Lexus GS 350, and a USD$50,000 technology suite by HP and Intel. The victor is also handed the dream opportunity of designing and selling an exclusive collection at upscale specialty-retail store Lord & Taylor.

A Times Square Anniversary Party
Heidi, Tim, Michael and Nina are back to kick off PROJECT RUNWAY’s 10th Anniversary Season with a live runway show in the middle of New York’s famed Times Square where thousands are gathered to see what the new crop of designers have up their sleeves. Actress Lauren Graham and stylist/costumer Patricia Field, who was the show’s first ever guest judge join the judging panel.
Candy Couture
Some designers find themselves in a sticky situation when they learn what the materials are for the beloved – and dreaded – unconventional challenge at Dylan’s Candy Store. They must create garments out of candy! Who will have sweet success and who will melt under the pressure? Catch Dylan Lauren as the guest judge in this exciting episode.
Welcome Back (Or Not) To The Runway
Working in teams of two, the designers have to create a red carpet look for former PROJECT RUNWAY designers to be worn at the Emmy’s.
Women On The Go
In this episode, the designers have to create a look for women on-the-go which can be worn from day to night.
It’s My Way On The Runway
In another exciting team challenge, the designers have to create cohesive looks for women at work. Marie Claire magazine’s Editor in Chief Joanna Coles stars as the guest judge.
Fix My Friend
The designers will give makeovers to their female customers including their hairstyles. British Fashion Designer Alice Temperley is the guest judge.
Oh My Lord And Taylor
Guest judge in this episode is Bonnie Brooks, president of Lord & Taylor. To celebrate the 10th Anniversary season, the designers get a chance of a lifetime to have their designs be part of the 10-piece PROJECT RUNWAY Capsule Collection at Lord & Taylor that will be sold in stores and online.
Starving Artist
Guest judge in this episode of PROJECT RUNWAY is fashion designer Anna Sui. They can design, but can they sell? The remaining designers are separated into teams of three and must earn the cash needed to purchase fabric from Mood by selling goods they make to people on the street. The fabric they choose will then be used to create two cohesive looks for Fall.
It’s All About Me
In this classic challenge, the designers have to dream up a pattern for a fabric that they can proudly call their own.
I Get A Kick Out Of Fashion
Kick up your legs and cheer! PROJECT RUNWAY heads to the legendary Radio City Music Hall and meets the iconic New York dance company, The Rockettes! Designers must create a costume for the Rockettes to wear for an upcoming appearance. Actress Debra Messing stars in this episode as a guest judge.
It’s Fashion, Baby
Fashion isn’t for babies – or is it? The designers find themselves babysitting and designing at the same time when Heidi asks them to create looks for her Babies “R” Us collection. Some designers will be left crying for their mamas when they get to the runway. Guest judge Hilary Duff joins in on this episode.
In A Place Far, Far Away
In the last challenge before the Finale, the designers have to create an Avant-Garde look.
Guest judge Zoe Saldana weighs in on their masterpieces with her expert opinions.
Finale, Part 1
After Tim Gunn’s home visits, the final four present their collections to the judges to win one of the three spots at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Finale, Part 2
Jennifer Hudson is the guest judge in the finale where all four finalists have to present their collections during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to the audience and to the judges.

Taking what she learned in NYC she moved to Los Angeles, where she started her own line, Original Tomboy which has received praise from both sides of the gender divide.

Alicia has a competitive edge and is confident that she can bring a new spin to PROJECT RUNWAY. Not only can she sew and drape, she can make pants which many designer’s struggles with. She’s a problem solver and adaptive and able to create with different kinds of material for various target markets. Alicia has a fresh style and a fierce be yourself attitude that can push her to win.

DESIGNER: ANDREA KATZ BIO
A self‐proclaimed radical feminist and anti‐fashionista, Andrea has earned three advanced degrees, a Master in Art and Arts Education and an MFA in Painting and New Media. When she turned 50, she left a secure job in arts education to pursue a career in fashion. As a designer, she avoids the conventional and trendy, aiming instead to make architectural garments that flatter a woman’s body. Andrea also teaches fashion design and loves the challenge of having design problems to solve.
Why She’ll Win:
Andrea’s maturity and confidence in her ability to design clothes under pressure will help her win PROJECT RUNWAY. Her independent and unconventional ideas about designing for a mass market will make her stiff competition.

DESIGNER: BEATRICE GUAPO BIO
The youngest of four girls, Beatrice’s love for fashion runs in the family who worked in fashion manufacturing. A self‐described tortured artist, Beatrice out herself through design school and earned her design degree at FIDM. Currently, Beatrice is a Woman’s Apparel Knit Designer for GG Collective, a label she runs with her mother and sister. GG Collective is sold at Ron Herman, Fred Segal and other boutiques in Los Angeles.
Why She’ll Win:
Fashion is Beatrice’s life inspiration. Her emotional connection to her designs has the ability to create a positive emotional change. She has the talent and the fresh approach to propel her to success.

DESIGNER: BUFFI JASHANMAL BIO
Buffi studied fashion at London College of Fashion and later attended Parsons where she developed her incredibly innovative sense of design. She launched her first line in Dubai, where her mother lives, and received much praise and success – even becoming a small celebrity there with stints hosting on‐camera. Full of charisma, Buffi not only designs, she authored a book on dress making, teaches sewing classes and hosts speed dating events part time.
Why She’ll Win:
Buffi is a smart designer who knows her limits. She’s unique and loves to try new ideas and techniques.

DESIGNER: CHRISTOPHER PALU BIO
Growing up in Long Island with a big Italian family, Christopher is very close to his parents and teenage sisters. Most recently, Christopher worked as a shoe designer for Sam Edelman until he was laid off. Inspired by Oscar de la Renta, Christopher’s designs are elegant, dramatic and beautifully constructed. He is also an obsessive designer of handbags, which may give him an advantage in the styling of his models as they come down the runway.
Why He’ll Win:
Christopher is a young talent who is fiercely determined to win PROJECT RUNWAY and with his exceptional sewing and construction skills he might just do it. His “vision is crystal clear” as he know what it takes to be the winner. He has a lot of different looks, styles and techniques that he is bringing to the table to win.

DESIGNER: DMITRY SHOLOKHOV BIO
At the age of six, Dmitry began his professional career as a ballroom dancer. By the age of eleven he was traveling all over Eastern Europe competing and designing his own costumes. He learned to sew by watching his grandmother and helping her embellish his costumes. Dmitry participated in a foreign student exchange program in the US and eventually made his way to New York and attended Parsons. He’s since worked for several design houses including Jones New York, Anne Klein and Domenico Vacca. With dreams of being a fashion designer, he wants to create his own label, creating modern and edgy looks for women.
Why He’ll Win:
Working in corporate fashion for so long has built up Dmitry’s confidents and is ready for the crtiques of the judges on PROJECT RUNWAY.

DESIGNER: ELENA SLIVNYAK BIO
Born in the Ukraine, Elena immigrated to the US with her family when she was 10 years old. Growing up poor, Elena’s always known she wanted to be a designer and today, has the supports of her family to follow her passion. Not a fan of trendy or disposable clothing, Elena’s strengths are in developing high quality, structured garments with an eye for luxury, pattern and construction.
Why She’ll Win:
Elena has the humility, drive and talent to win PROJECT RUNWAY. She strives for nothing but perfection and attempts to remain grounded at all times. Elena believes she has something different to deliver to the fashion world – designing for a “whole different girl than what everyone usually designs for.”

DESIGNER: FABIO COSTA BIO
Fabio grew up in a small town in Brazil and was raised by his seamstress grandmother after he lost his father when he was a baby and his mother moved to New York when he was four years old. After years apart, he joined his mother in the States at the young age of 11. Remaining close to his grandmother, whom he learned to sew, he often returned to visit and to study fashion in Brazil. Fabio’s style and method can be described as post‐modern and he is in the process of creating a new pattern system that he hopes to share with others.
Why He’ll Win:
Fabio is a conscientious, community‐minded person who is prepared to take critiques from the judges and balance his design aesthetic to help him win PROJECT RUNWAY. He has a unique sense of style and progressive method of construction that can put him ahead of the pack.

DESIGNER: GUNNAR DEATHERAGE BIO
Without formal training, Gunnar learned to sew when he was seven from his grandmother. In high school, he enrolled in a textiles class in high school, which he ended up teaching because he ended up knowing more than the instructor! He went on to become a tailor and recently opened up his is own custom‐design business, receiving high acclaim for his work. Though being self‐taught, he believes he can compete with more experienced big city designers.
Why He’ll Win:
Eliminated from last season Top 20, this is his year for redemption. Gunnar has the drive to make his family proud and believes “if you want something bad enough, you’ll find a way to get it.”

DESIGNER: KOOAN KOSUKE BIO
An instinctively competitive person, Kooan knew that fashion was for him at a young age. By the age of 19, Kooan had moved from Japan to New York to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology where he harnessed his skills in fashion. A force to be reckoned with, Kooan initially learned how to sew from graphic designer mother and grandmother. His style icon is Michael Jackson and even today, you can hear the Jackson 5 on his IPod when he designs.
Why He’ll Win?
His utterly unique designs are lively, colorful and avant‐garde and will thrive with any off‐the‐wall challenge thrown his way.

DESIGNER: LANTIE FOSTER BIO
Lantie grew up making her own clothes, as she never found anything to fit her skinny frame. Starting out a psychology major in college, she soon realized she was spending more time making clothes to wear to class than studying and decided to transfer to fashion school, attending two years at Brooks College in Long Beach, CA before heading to New York to attend The Fashion Institute of Design.
Why She’ll Win:
Having applied to PROJECT RUNWAY before, Lantie knows that that the ambition and talent will help win. Having amped upped her game, she has a very clear sense of who she is as a designer and is ready to take out the other designers.

DESIGNER: MELISSA FLEIS BIO
After graduating from the University of Michigan, Melissa decided to further her education in Fashion and enrolled and graduated from San Francisco’s Academy of Art. Melissa is currently making a living as a marketing director for an upscale SF boutique. Inspired by the Dada and Bauhaus art movements, Melissa wants women to feel strong and cutting edge in her designs. One day she hopes to have a lifestyle brand that combines clothing, accessories, interior design and furniture.
Why She’ll Win:
She is a perfectionist and says she is the ideal ambassador for PROJECT RUNWAY. Her forward thinking, distinct looks with couture garment construction and experimental design techniques are her strength that will help her win.

DESIGNER: NATHAN MCDONALD BIO
The eldest son of a preacher, raised in small‐town Ohio, Nathan made his first garment at age 5 – a skirt for his mother. He received formal training at the Fashion Institute of Technology and received a FIT Critic’s Award for Eveningwear. Aiming to make women of all shapes feel beautiful and confident, he designed a plus‐size line named “up‐size.”
Why He’ll Win:
With his huge personality, Nathan has come to play and to win PROJECT RUNWAY. He is a sculptor, and that informs his creative outlook on fashion design and a unique leg up on his competition.

DESIGNER: RAUL OSORIO BIO
Born in California and raised both in the US and Honduras, Raul’s grandmother started a sewing academy to teach low‐income people a trade, and he learned from watching his mother at the machine. He realized he had designer potential five years ago when he started making his own clothes to wear. His strengths as a designer include his construction skills, excellence in pattern making and speed in sewing.
Why He’ll Win:
Confident in his point of view and designs, Raul is sure he will win PROJECT RUNWAY. His own competition will be himself, because, if the design doesn’t meet his standards he won’t execute it.

DESIGNER: SONJIA WILLIAMS BIO
First of her family to graduate from college, Sonjia or Songee as she is known by friends, learned how to sew from her mother when she was twelve. Sonjia is influenced by everyday life – from the various colors, textures, shapes or patterns she may encounter and loves working with woven fabrics and leather Although she pays great attention to detail in her designs, a detriment for her on the show may be her lack of time management skills.
Why She’ll Win:
Sonjia’s strong will and youthful energy will help her win PROJECT RUNWAY. She’s determined and believes she has the talent and drive to be the last designer standing on the runway.

DESIGNER: VEN BUDHU BIO
At the age of four, Ven and his family moved to New York from the third world country of Guyana. Having three sisters, he always had an interest fashion and attended Fashion Institute of Technology where he was named Designer of the Year in 200, received the Critic Award from Reem Acra, Cotton Inc. Winner for Evening Wear, Saks Fifth Ave Winner for Women’s Wear and placed third for the Fashion Group International Award for Women’s Ready To Wear. He draws his inspiration from different cultures and exotic locations rich in history. Ven is extremely passionate about being a designer and strongly believes that it is something he was born to do.
Why He’ll Win:
Ven has a strong work ethic, a healthy dose of ambition and sets high standards for himself and the clothes he designs. He has a competitive edge and is willing to sacrifice to fulfill his dreams. He has a natural eye for design that cannot be learned or acquired.
