PLANE IN THE CITY MALAYSIA’S FIRST AIRCRAFT DINING EXPERIENCE
Imagine if taking a flight does not mean sitting in a tight space for a few hours and eating a pre-packed meal anymore? What if you could actually enjoy freshly-prepared meals in an aircraft and be given a private tour of the cockpit right after?
TwoSpicy Entertainment Live, the company behind the immensely popular Dinner In the Sky Malaysia, is set to launch Plane In The City this April, touted to be the next top attraction in Kuala Lumpur.
The first of its kind in Malaysia, Plane In The City will be a 90-minutes experience revolving around an actual Boeing 737 aircraft, during when its ‘passengers’ will get a chance-of-a-lifetime to do things such as taking a ‘selfie’ while sticking their heads out of the Pilot’s cockpit, walking on the wings of the aircraft, enjoying a fine-dining meal serenaded by today’s hit music and many more. Located at SKYLAND at Jalan Bukit Bintang, one cannot miss the aircraft while driving past, as it stands out against the city’s many skyscrapers.
“We live in an era of experience. Consumers are now demanding newer and more interactive models of products and services. They want to experience different realities and Plane In The City allows them to do just thatâ€, said Arvin Randahwa, CEO of TwoSpicy Entertainment Live who conceived the idea. “This is a great way and place for locals and tourists to treat their loved ones, friends or clients and have an unforgettable outing,†he added.
Sitting only 20 people per session to maintain exclusivity, food aboard the aircraft will be served in 3 or 4 courses (depending on the type of package) by Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur, a well-known five star hotel, chosen based on their exciting menu and great-tasting cuisine. “Food, in our tradition, is something sacred, it’s not about the nutrients or calories. It’s about sharing, honesty and identity. Hence the philosophy of cooking has to be an intimate experience thus the idea behind the menu for dining in the plane is all about – creating an honest and intimate experience for the diners through the food†said Chef Antoine Rodriquez, Executive Chef of Le’ Meridien Kuala Lumpur.
The process to transport and transform the decommissioned aircraft used for Plane In The City was not an easy one. From police escorts to multiple cranes, it was a technical and lengthy journey, which was supported by sponsors such as Dulux and AkzoNobel, the official paint. Around 350 liters of actual premium aerospace coatings were imported into the country by Dulux for the project. “Our partnership with Plane in the City presents a great opportunity for AkzoNobel, a leading global paints and coatings company, to share our colour expertise and product innovations in aerospace coatings to all Malaysians. Both durable and sustainable, our coatings personify our passion for creating innovative, reliable and efficient solutions which we are proud to showcase through this exciting collaboration,†said Ted Rhee, Regional Sales Manager, AkzoNobel Specialty Coatings Aero Commercial, Asia Pacific.
Not only that, the runway lights used around the aircraft will also be actual runway lights used on airport runways around the world, courtesy of ADB Safegate, airport technology specialists.
With all the above and many more to come, Plane in The City will definitely elevate your dining experience to a whole new level and satisfy the cravings of all your five senses. This is one experience that you DO NOT want to miss out on.
Ticket sales will begin on 26th of March 2018 and will be priced at ONLY RM199 per pax for the Economy Class, RM399 per pax for the Business Class and RM999 per pax for the First Class. On top of these standard packages, Plane In The City plans to launch celebratory packages such as for birthdays and anniversaries. Event companies and the public may also book the aircraft as a venue for private/ corporate events fitting up to 60 pax at one time. For further inquiries, one may visit www.planeinthecity.com .
