A MEMORABLE VALENTINE’S DAY WITH ‘U’
Olivia Ong wows Malaysia with stellar performance courtesy of U Mobile
It was a blissful concoction of romance and beautiful music at Dewan Wawasan, Menara PGRM when Olivia Ong, internationally-acclaimed jazz songstress, crooned the 3,000-strong crowd in the full-house hall during her ‘Are U Ready for Love’ live concert.
The concert, which was presented by U Mobile Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s most dynamic and innovative telco, was Olivia’s first ever live performance in Malaysia and saw Olivia charming her fans who came as far as Taiwan and Japan with a love-themed set list, encompassing songs from her album and notable classic ballads by Elvis Presley, Teresa Teng, Faye Wong and the Bee Gees.

Apart from sponsoring the concert, U Mobile had also selected 23 winners of its recent Facebook contest to meet with Olivia Ong at a meet-the-fans session and a post-concert celebration. Both events were held over the weekend at Berjaya Times Square.
For Tee Pek Chieng, a contest winner and an Olivia Ong fan, Valentine’s Day became more memorable when she met with her favourite singer and won free tickets to catch Olivia live in concert.
“I was extremely thrilled when I was told that I would get free concert tickets and meet Olivia. Meeting her in person was so surreal to me and I would have never imagined myself having this great honour. This is my best Valentine’s Day and I would like to thank U Mobile for this amazing opportunity,†said the 19 year-old broadcast communications student.
Held at Neway Karaoke Box, Berjaya Times Square, the meet-and-greet session presented 23 lucky winners the opportunity to spend quality time with Olivia. Games, photo-taking and autograph sessions were also organized, much to the delight of the winners. Another four lucky couples too had the opportunity to meet Olivia in person for a special photo-session at the post-concert celebration party.
