About Her
A Thai pop sensation, Santhawan Dew Boonratana born to a Thai mum and Thai-Punjabi dad, whose passion for singing and modeling started since she was 6. Santha never had the chance to explore deeper in the entertainment line as discouraged by her father back then. A 23 year-old Marketing graduate who grew up in Malaysia is capable of speaking 3 languages, Malay, English & Thai fluently. Santha was once a Thai interpreter for TV3 reality show, also owns a fashion blog to kill her past time.
Santha’s first debut single, Sejak Kau Ada, a modern pop genre already has some radio airplay on Hot FM & Era FM. Besides, she wanted to ensure that the radio station didn’t play her single just once and forget about it so she began promoting on Facebook and Twitter. Santa said that besides Sejak Kau Ada being a catchy song, there’s some novelty in the fact that she’s a Thai and able to speak in Malay very well. The single is available for download on Maxis, Celcom, Digi and Umobile.
Discovered at the age of 21 by Cikgu Shafi Shariff, the Akademi Fantasia vocal instructor who also runs the New Edge Entertainment. Santha has recently recorded 4 songs of modern pop & pop ballad genre, currently in the process of recording the last song before compiling into an album. Songs & lyrics are composed and written by Cikgu Shafi herself.
“Thailand was never my home although my mum is now living there. I’m 90 % Thai, but born & bred in Malaysia therefore my hearts belong here.” The distance from her mum was not a major hindrance. Santha’s dream is to further her singing and modeling career in Thailand, someday.
