Mythical Creatures come out to play on Universal Channel’s GRIMM
Kuala Lumpur, 19 March 2012 – Come 27 March, Universal Channel sends chills up our spines, as a new drama series, GRIMM, puts a dark twist to our favourite childhood fairy tales.
Executive Producer David Greenwalt, famous for his works such as The X-Files, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and spin-off Angel, injects the right dose of grim to make this drama worth its name.
Inspired by the classic, Grimm’s Fairy Tales penned by the famous Brothers Grimm, characters of folk lore will come alive to haunt a homicide detective and his friends.
Not new to dark themes, David Giuntoli who appeared in Nip & Tuck, Without A Trace, Cold Case, and Ghost Whisperer, plays Detective Nick Burkhardt, who discovers he is descended from a line of Grimms. This supernatural group is charged with keeping balance between humanity and the mythological creatures of the world.
His discovery takes a toll on his personal relationships, as Nick struggles to come clean with his loved ones about this supernatural world he belongs to. Bitsie Tulloch (The Artist, House, The West Wing) stars as Juliette in the show, who is oblivious to her boyfriend’s after-dark activities. Nick also keeps his supernatural life away from his partner at work, Hank Griffin, played by Russell Homsby (Law & Order).
When mystical beings come out to play at night, Nick gets his monster-hunting skills on with Captain Renard, his politically adept superior officer and a member of the creature community of unknown origin. Sasha Roiz (Lie to Me, The Mentalist) plays Nick’s side-kick in his mysterious double life.
With mythical beings and time-treasured stories from our childhood, GRIMM is set to keep viewers entranced in a fairytale world with deadly twists.
Grimm premieres on 27th March 2012, on Universal Channel (HyppTV Channel 160), every Tuesday at 8pm.
