Setelah muncul dengan drama bersiri popular Ghost dan KAMI, saluran hip 8TV kembali untuk menghidangkan sebuah lagi drama bersiri terbaru PROJEK POP. PROJEK POP lengkap dengan jalan cerita menarik yang menggabungkan elemen drama, skandal tanpa melupakan elemen hiburan. Drama ini dijangka bakal mencetus fenomena baru dalam industri hiburan Malaysia!
Apa yang dapat anda gambarkan tentang suasana di sebuah konsert? Pastinya anda mendapat pengalaman yang menyeronokkan dan menyaksikan persembahan penuh tenaga! Namun pernahkah anda terfikir tenaga kerja yang bertungkus lumus memastikan sebuah konsert berlangsung dengan sempurna? Pihak penganjur, artis yang membuat persembahan dan koordinator konsert merupakan antara ‘orang kuat’ belakang tabir yang menjadi tunggak utama dalam keberkesanan sesuatu konsert.
PROJEK POP akan membawa anda mencungkil apa yang berlaku di belakang tabir dan membawa anda mengikuti perjalanan mereka yang bekerja keras untuk sebuah konsert besar.
Josiah Hogan membawakan watak Kamil yang merupakan vokalis kumpulan Hot Snow. Namun beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini Hot Snow mengalami waktu sukar dalam kerjaya muzik mereka dan jejaka berusia 29 tahun ini cuba untuk mengembalikan populariti mereka. Kamil berusaha untuk membuat ‘comeback’ dan bersedia untuk bekerja keras bagi merealisasikan impian beliau.
Setelah dipecat oleh Kamil, Amad lakonan Iedil Putra yang merupakan bekas Pengurus Kumpulan Hot Snow telah dilamar oleh band popular Hujan untuk menguruskan kerjaya seni mereka. Namun konflik melanda diri Amad kerana beliau dihantui peristiwa hitam yang melanda diri beliau sebelum ini. Adakah Amad akan tewas dalam perjuangan ini? Atau mungkin Amad punya strategi tersendiri untuk mengembalikan maruah beliau dan mungkin juga beliau berjaya memenangi hati Alis.
Cristina Stockstill membawakan watak sebagai teman wanita Kamil bernama Alis. Hubungan cinta di antara Alis dan Kamil sentiasa dilanda masalah dan Alis sentiasa menjadi mangsa dalam perhubungan mereka namun situasi ini menjadikan Alis lebih kuat. Mungkin lamaran dari Kamil bakal mengubah segalanya? Atau mungkin, Alis berubah hati untuk jejaka yang lebih sensitif dan lebih menghargai beliau?
Menurut Akmal Danial Bin Mohamed Jaafar (Atomsk) dan Khairul Azri B. Mad Noor (Kroll Azry), Pengarah PROJEK POP “Konsep sebegini belum pernah dibuat atau dibawa oleh mana-mana produksi filem atau drama tempatan. Kami ingin berkongsi dengan penonton tentang apa yang terjadi di belakang tabir sebuah konsert dan memberi gambaran sebenar industri muzik tempatan.”
“PROJEK POP sebenarnya merupakan konsert terbesar di Malaysia. Kami juga telah mencipta sebuah band yang digelar Hotsnow di mana di dalam drama ini, mereka merupakan band terhebat di Malaysia. Drama 10 episod ini akan menampilkan ramai selebriti popular serta band-band hebat sebagai ‘cameo’ yang akan menghiasi drama ini,” tambah mereka lagi.
Antara ‘cameo’ yang turut terlibat di dalam PROJEK POP ialah Adibah Noor, Sharifah Amani, Bront Palarae, Hasnul Rahmat, Tania Hudson, Joe Flizzow, Altimet, Sona One, Monoloque, Reza Salleh, Liyana Fizi, Bittersweet, Kyoto Protocol, Pesawat dan ramai lagi.
Sebagai salah satu langkah untuk mempromosikan program ini, satu kempen #cassetteprojek telah dilancarkan pada 5 Februari 2012 menerusi medium alternatif iaitu Facebook dan Twitter. Di sini, peminat telah mendermakan kaset yang tidak digunakan atau diperlukan lagi dengan menebusnya dengan pas masuk percuma ke ‘PROJEK POP Showcase’ yang berlangsung hari ini, 29 Februari 2012 di Laundry Bar, The Curve. ‘Showcase’ eksklusif ini menampilkan artis-artis hebat yang turut terlibat di dalam drama bersiri ini.

plays AMAD, Hujans’ Band Manager
Formerly the manager of Hot Snow until he got fired when Kamil believed they needed somebody more ‘big time’. Now managing Hujan, Amad gives his heart to ensure only the best for his clients. This multitasking individual can’t help but take on tasks beyond his call of duty and is constantly on the go.
Iedil Putra Alaudin, who completed his degree in Medical Science last year, started his performing arts experience in 1994, as a pioneer member of Tunas Budaya. Until 2001, he was involved in several children’s theatre productions such as, SITI DI ALAM FANTASI, TAMAN BAGINDA, LAGENDA, DEWI BUNGA. He also performed in Syed Alwi’s THE REST HOUSE, Rahim Razali’s HULU MELAKA, and also RUBIAH. He has appeared in Rahim Razali’s movie, EIMAN ALONE, various local commercials and has done voiceover work for KAMPUNG BOY‐THE ANIMATED SERIES. Apart from acting, Iedil is one of the founders of KNUKE, an event organizing body that brings local independent music act such as Hujan, Estrella, Seven Collar T‐Shirt, Couple, MonoloQue and Altimet to perform in the UK.

Being the headliner of this concert, everything is going Hot Snow’s way. After a meteorical rise as Malaysia’s most hailed superband, Kamil decided to lose Amad as their manager and go with the bigger players. But success is beginning to get to their heads. Will Kamil lead the band to its most memorable performance, or will the pressure of being the best be too much to handle?

Alis is Kamil’s girlfriend, but when she sees another side of him, inflamed by the presence of Amad, she starts questioning herself. Alis will also provide an outsider’s look at the happenings of the concert.
Cristina, is not a stranger to the local drama scene. The 27 year olds’ outstanding talent and good looks have gotten her into several local drama’s including Cermin Pada Bulan, Kasih Najihah, Dia Bukan Maryam, Sentuhan Isabella, My Indie Rock Darling, KIL and Bicara Hati. Cristina has also played host for Carta Blockbuster on Tonton.com.my for KRU TV 2011, and TM Everyone Connects. Apart from acting and hosting, this young lady of Asian – German parentage has been seen in adds such as TM Bukit Nanas Monorail Add 2011 and Astro Diva Universal Raya Promo 2011.

For years now Shireen has made a name for herself as a host and emcee. Yet even though she continues to land job after job she is unhappy. Wanting to be taken more seriously for her dreams of being an actress, she constantly feels overshadowed by her hunky actor boyfriend, Razali. Perhaps now is a better time than ever to make that step to chase the dream she truly desires.
Anita Woo, a 25 year old of Malay – Chinese parentage is a Horseback Archery International Medalist and a national athlete. This lady of many talents is not unfamiliar to the camera’s, as she was casted as a Nightline Newscaster for TV3 and for the Ministry of Transportation CNY 2010 Television Commercial. This young woman spells beauty with brains.

plays DANIAL THE Teenager who dreams of going to the Projek Pop concert.
Danial is into emo-rock and is more silent and calm compared to his friend, Khairul, who is a loose cannon. Danial may be slower and less “gung-ho” than Khairul but he is certainly more mature. He dreams of going to the Projek Pop gig.
Young and full of dreams, the 20 year old Shafie is well known for film titles under his belt of acting, including Songlap, Nur Kasih, Talentime and Muksin. Shafie doesn’t plan to stop there. With gifted talent such as Shafie’s, his dreams don’t seem a far catch.
JUSTIN NAZREEN

plays KHAIRUL a hip hop lover and Danial’s friend
Danial’s friend who is totally opposite from Khairul and also into hio hop. Also dreams of going to Projek Pop concert. Khairul thinks with his mouth, and is more gung-ho then his friend, and more loud. With Danial, he makes his way to the Projek Pop concert.
Justin‘s career as an actor started in 2010 as Syed in the first season of Waktu Rehat on Disney Channel. His character was said to be the most outstanding. The Hit TV series among youths in the country became big and Red Communications decided to produce the second season in early 2011. In 2011, Justin’s rapping career took off when he came out with his first rapping single “Sunset Blvd”, written by Juzzthin himself.
