U Mobile Sdn. Bhd announced today the appointment of Wong Heang Tuck as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective 1st April 2014 , Jasmine Lee as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), and Alex Tan as Chief Sales Officer (CSO) effective 1 January, 2014.
Wong Heang Tuck joined U Mobile as Chief Operating Officer (COO) on 12 July, 2013 and was subsequently appointed as Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective 1 September, 2013. Heang Tuck holds 20 years of invaluable experience in finance, business and corporate development. His past experience includes being the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of WBL Corporation Limited, a multinational conglomerate listed on the Stock Exchange of Singapore. He was also formerly the CFO of KS Energy Limited and PT Indosat in Indonesia. Prior to that, he has held senior positions in various companies within Keppel Corporation of Singapore, where he worked for ten years. In his current tenure at U Mobile, Heang Tuck aims to actualize U Mobile’s vision and mission by supporting the company with well-informed business direction and strategies it needs to transcend to the next chapter.
Prior to her appointment as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of U Mobile, Jasmine Lee, previously the Commercial Director for AirAsia Berhad, made her career mark in U Mobile as the Director of Marketing in February 2013. She was also co-founder and CEO of MNC Wireless Berhad and holds an impressive background in corporate branding and product marketing. Having won a string of awards and recognition under her previous lead at AirAsia Berhad and Digi Telecommunications Bhd, Jasmine is now responsible for overseeing all of U Mobile’s marketing efforts and it set to deal with product development, product marketing and management, brand and marketing communications and customer experience management including customer engagement, financial services, loyalty & retention, MVNO and Wholesale businesses.
Alex Tan, U Mobile’s recently elected Chief Sales Officer (CSO) who previously held the position as Director of Sales, acquires an impressive professional portfolio in domestic, international trade, as well as sales and management positions having worked with companies such as Fuji Xerox, Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank and DiGi Telecommunications Bhd. Alex was previously the General Manager for Channel & Distribution at PT Natrindo Telepon Seluler (AXIS) Indonesia and will be responsible for leading U Mobile’s strategic partnerships. Additionally, he will also be implementing go-to-market plans and business expansion efforts for consumer sales in the prepaid and postpaid divisions, as well as handling channel distribution, trade marketing, and channel support operations.
With the new appointments in the senior management team, U Mobile looks to heighten its leadership front through proactive resilience, aiming to fulfill its business vision as one of Malaysia’s leading telecommunications companies.
