Performance by Lenny Kravitz amplifies F1 after-race concert excitement. The Sepang International Circuit (SIC) is rocking the after-race concert at the 2015 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix with iconic rock musician Lenny Kravitz. SIC today announced the headline act for the concert taking place from 630pm to 1130pm at the Helipad in Sepang International Circuit, after the finale of the 2015 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix, on 29 March 2015.
Regarded as one of the preeminent rock musicians of our time, Lenny Kravitz has transcended genre, style, race and class into a 20-year musical career, one which revels in the rich influences of ’60s and ’70s soul, rock and funk. Kravitz’s talents as a writer, producer and multi-instrumentalist have resonated now through ten studio albums into a timeless catalog, which has sold over 38 million albums worldwide.
He has won four consecutive GRAMMY Awards, setting a record for the most wins in the “Best Male Rock Vocal Performance” category. Kravitz’s latest albums include the 20th anniversary deluxe edition of his debut, Let Love Rule, and his critically acclaimed latest studio release Strut, which Rolling Stone Magazine named one of the top albums of 2014. Lenny Kravitz recently announced the second leg of his world tour in support of his new album, which will kick off March 14 in Tokyo, Japan at International Forum.
The 2015 “STRUT” tour will take him throughout Asia, Australia, the U.S.A. and back again through Europe in the summer. Tickets and more information for the tour can be found at lennykravitz.com/tour/.
It was recently announced that Kravitz will perform at the Super Bowl together with Katy Perry on 1 February. The annual Super Bowl is one of the most prestigious sporting events in the United States – being the championship game of the National Football League (NFL), the highest level of professional American football in the United States. It is usually viewed by over 200 million people.
The F1 after-race concert, which will also feature local stars in addition to Kravitz’s 70-minute main performance, is open to all F1 race ticket holders. Dato’ Razlan Razali, CEO of Sepang International Circuit, said: “The after-race concert has seen tremendous excitement and interest in recent years. This year, for the first time ever, we wanted to make things even more thrilling and also thank all F1 ticket holders for their continuous support by opening the after-race concert to all spectators at no extra charge. In the past, only Grandstand ticket holders could see the concert for free while others had to pay an additional top-up fee. Now, you can see stars of the track and stage in action in the same day, for as low as only RM80.
