Taking heed of FitMalaysia and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia’s aim in adopting a healthy lifestyle amongst Malaysians, MURFEST (Malaysia Urban Retreat Festival) stays true to its vision of cultivating the urban spirit amongst individuals. Held annually, this Largest Wellness, Music and Dance festival was held from the 13th November 2015 to 15th November 2015 at Hotel Pullman Kuala Lumpur Bangsar.
“MURFEST is a great avenue for youth with different backgrounds and interests to come together in a uniquely urban setting. From music, dance, workshops and vast array of eclectic group-fitness activities, participants will definitely enjoy themselves in line with Ministry of Youth and Sports cause and programs”, said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, who was present and had a taste of one of the many workshops.
MURFEST 2015 is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia through FIT Malaysia and by Malaysian Health Promotion Board (MySihat), a statutory body placed under the Ministry of Health Malaysia.
Supported by Malaysia Major Events (MME), a division of Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism & Culture (MoTAC), MURFEST is well on its way to becoming Malaysia’s largest Wellness, Music and Dance Festival.
“We are experiencing amazing vibes from everyone at the festival. It is remarkable to see people of all ages and fitness levels from all over the world gathering at the event, embracing a diverse array of health and lifestyle activities.
As a home grown event, MURFEST shall definitely grow into a celebrated brand and we encourage more events of similar stature to be held in the country,” said Mr Tony Nagamaiah, General Manager of Malaysia Major Events.
One of MURFEST’s Brand Ambassadors, Atilia Haron said, “The most important thing in life is to take good care of your mind, body and soul. MURFEST is a great platform to come together and reap the benefits of this healthy synergy into a better lifestyle”. Atilia was also one of the facilitators that conducted a yoga workshop during this festival.
“We are all constantly surrounded with both good and bad stress. Managing and learning how to control your stress level is essential as stress can be detrimental in the long run,” said Jojo Struys, who is also a brand ambassador for MURFEST.
