It is hard to believe but a whole week has gone by since the Khadijah Ibrahim: Pearl Anniversary Concerts at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS. For those who were able to attend we sincerely hope you enjoyed the occasion. As you probably know, the press coverage has been uniformly positive (see a digest of reviews at: http://www.impresscreative.com/2008/09/news.html). And our colleagues at DFP are thrilled that Khadijah played to two full houses – a first for a Malaysian popular artist in the venue!
On behalf of Impress Creative & Editorial, Khadijah, Ramli Sarip and Dato’ Dr Ahmad Nawab we would like to thank all our friends in the media who helped make the concerts a success. Working on a project like this for nearly one year involved a great deal of inspiration and perspiration. We were so pleased to be able to collaborate with some very creative people who helped in writing and broadcasting about the shows and did profiles of Khadijah. And then there was the sheer hard work put in by so many. We only just made it by the skin of our teeth. But we made it!
Although the concerts are over there are still new developments in the pipeline:
(a) Impress made a high quality audio recording of both nights. We will be sitting down at Mac Chew and Jenny Chin’s studio – Babyboss – to listen to the recording with a view to issuing a double CD “Khadijah Ibrahim Live at DFP” some time next year.
(b) We also have an archive quality video recording of both nights produced by DFP which we could make available clips to you.
(c) A complete portfolio of photographs from the concerts will be ready shortly – in the meantime we are attaching a very small sample of shots – hat tip to Harun.
(d) Copies of Khadijah’s new double CD “Khadijah Ibrahim: Album Mutiara” are now on sale. It is the definitive collection of 30 songs spanning her whole recording career. Again your support in publicising and review the album is most welcome.
(e) There are strong possibilities of presenting a similar concert at Singapore’s Esplanade in late 2009 or early 2010. Impress also plans to collaborate with DFP in presenting high quality concerts there in the future. If so, we will be contacting you in due course and we hope that you will retain an interest in supporting our efforts.
Once again, then, thank you for all your support. We truly cherish it.
Best wishes,
Ismail Gareth Richards
