The presence of Malaysia at the biggest global market for international creative content, MIPCOM ,(Marche International des Programmes de Television) in Cannes, France from 13-16th October 2014 is expected to generate RM 150 million worth of deals by 34 participating Malaysian companies.

YBhg. Dato’ Sri Abdul Rahim Mohd Radzi, the Secretary General of Ministry of Communications and Multimedia will be leading this international mission that becomes the highlight of Malaysia’s focus at global market. The significance of MIPCOM to Malaysian companies is its impact in providing an essential global platform for producing, buying, selling, financing and distributing entertainment content. It also provides golden opportunities for Malaysian companies involved in the TV, film, digital and audiovisual content, production and distribution industry a market and networking forum to discover future trends and trade content rights on a global level.
Abdul Rahim further said “MIPCOM gives a lot of emphasis on technological development, government incentive support and the construction of new facilities that helps strengthen the Malaysian content development eco-system.
This eco-system has provided opportunities for companies to develop high-quality creative content that is at par with the global standards and all the participants will market their products and services at the Malaysia Pavilion set up especially for MIPCOM to showcase Malaysian innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship as well as placing the country at the forefront of the global film and television content supply chain.”
The Malaysian Mission to MIPCOM 2014 is co-organised by FINAS, Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) and the Malaysian Communications & Multimedia Commission (MCMC), in association with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the Creative Content Association of Malaysia (CCAM) and Tourism Malaysia.
