Hotlink Reward Points Redeemable for Free Avril Lavigne Tickets
Hotlink, the country’s no. 1 prepaid service from Maxis Communications Berhad (“Maxis”), today announced its plans to bring Canadian Grammy award-nominated pop punk singer, Avril Lavigne, to Kuala Lumpur on 29 August 2008 for her 2008 worldwide tour. Her Kuala Lumpur concert will be from 8.00pm onwards at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur. This concert is part of her worldwide tour which includes performances in the United States of America, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines and Taiwan.
Hotlink is happy to present a series of special offers that bring fans closer to their idol. The Hotlink Avril Lavigne experience will kick-off at 1.00pm on 19 July at Sungei Wang Plaza. Between 19 July to 2 August, Hotlink and Maxis customers will enjoy a 10% early bird discount on tickets. After the early bird promotion, they will continue to enjoy a 5% discount. All they have to do is to download a Avril Lavigne Caller Ringtone Package at RM5. Tickets can be purchased from the ticketing booth at the Concourse Level of Sungei Wang Plaza.
The Avril Lavigne Caller Ringtone Package contains three Avril Lavigne songs. Two out of three songs are refreshed automatically on a monthly basis to ensure that fans can entertain their callers with a variety of Avril songs.
Customers living outside the Klang Valley will also be given a chance to obtain tickets for the concert via nationwide road shows. There will be exclusive limited edition Avril Lavigne merchandise for Hotlink customers when they top up. Customers can also redeem their Hotlink reward points for the chance to watch their idol live in Kuala Lumpur.
Other exclusive Hotlink customer privileges include Avril Lavigne mobile content which can be downloaded from the Hotlink website. Mobile content includes Caller Ring tones, True Tunes, Full Songs, Music Videos, and Wallpapers. Hotlink is also introducing for the first time artist-based manga on mobile (or Mobisodes) featuring Avril. This will be available by August 2008. There will be 33 3-minute Mobisodes and each download will cost RM1.
Finally, Hotlink and Maxis customers enjoy a 20% discount on Avril Lavigne’s album “The Best Damn Thing”. They just have to visit participating music outlets nationwide such as Rock Corner, CD Rama, Speedy, Artist Records, Victoria Music Center, Inverno Music Center, and Rising Music Center and show a download of Avril Lavigne’s wallpaper on their mobile phone to enjoy the discount. The wallpaper download costs RM3.

Avril Lavigne is a Canadian pop punk singer/songwriter and actress who is known for her “skater punk” persona. She won two World Music Awards in 2004 for World’s Best Pop/Rock Artist and World’s Best Selling Canadian Artist. She received five Juno Award nominations in 2005, picking up three including, Fan Choice Award, Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year. She also won the award for Favourite Female Singer at the eighteenth Annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
