Celebrating the arrival of Diva Universal is one of the hottest new cop shows on television. Hot on the heels of its US premiere in June, Diva brings you the 2-hour Exclusive Asia premiere of Rookie Blue. The 13- part series follows the lives of five young ambitious cops fresh out of the Academy. Just like Grey’s Anatomy and other recent genre shows, the private lives and tribulations of our young heroes take centre-stage right along with the action. The group finds out soon enough that no amount of training can prepare them for real life policing, where the smallest mistake can have life-or-death consequences and serious emotional fall-out. Andy McNally (Missy Peregrym, Reaper), is the “soul” of the group. Her father, a policeman, was not the best cop, nor the best father, but Andy knows no other job will give her this sense of family, loyalty and excitement. Dov Epstein (Gregory Smith, Everwood) has been raised by hippie parents and is excited to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a policeman. Gail Peck (Charlotte Sullivan, Syfy’s Alice) comes from a family of cops. Her father is next in line to be the chief of Toronto’s police and she also sees herself in the future as the chief of police. Traci Nash (Enuka Okuma, Sue Thomas) has been raised in a tough neighbourhood. She’s also a party girl and, above all, a single mother, a fact that she hides from her colleagues. Chris Diaz (Travis Milne, Holiday in Handcuffs) a by-the-book cop described as a “walking police manual,” is a small-town boy and is hardly ready for policing in a city like Toronto, one of Canada’s biggest cities.
