MTV today announced Australian singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian will perform for the first time in Singapore in the music series MTV Sessions on Monday, 30 June at 8pm at Resorts World Sentosa’s Waterfront Studio. The chart-topper will perform a selection of songs for the show.
Sebastian’s new album will be out later this year and his latest single “Like a Drum†topped the Hot 100 chart in Australia last year and broke into the top 20 in the U.S.’s Billboard Dance Club Song chart. A limited number of passes to the exclusive showcase will be given out on MTV’s website. Sebastian rose to fame after capturing the hearts of his fellow Australians with his unique vocal talents and was crowned the first Australian Idol winner in 2003. Since then, he has released seven consecutive multi-platinum albums, seven number one singles, judged Australia’s The X Factor from 2010 to 2012 and took 2012’s “Battle Scars” to platinum status in the U.S. with rapper Lupe Fiasco.
