Thai-British Star Returns With a Fresh New Beat
Rocketfuel’s first international signing, Chaleeda Gilbert seems determined in expanding her talents in the entertainment world. This time around the Thai-British star returns with a new fresh single called ‘Growing Up Sucks’.
In general, ‘Growing Up Sucks’ tells the story of a girl who misses her younger ‘care-free’ days. However, despite acknowledging the fact that those days are over, she is still thankful that she has her special someone by her side.
The ‘easy listening’ track was brilliantly composed by Justin Seow, Kuizz Shah, and Wee Zhen Yong while the lyrics were penned by local artiste, Bil Musa.
Chaleeda who was first discovered doing covers of popular international tracks on Youtube succesfully stole the attention Rocketfuel’s management team and is now a solo recording artiste and budding actress.
Once given the opportunity to collaborate with renowned local hip hop star SonaOne, Chaleeda is also carving her name in the Malaysian music scene.
‘Growing Up Sucks’ can be downloaded on iTunes and be made as a caller ringtone on all local telcos. It can also be heard and streamed online through digital platforms such as Raku, Spotify, Joox and Apple Music.

Growing Up Sucks
(Verse 1)
Do you remember when we used to be so carefree
Driving back early A.M. got nowhere to go didn’t wanna go home
(Pre-chorus)
Didn’t really care we’re not afraid of the dark
But no one ever told us life would get so hard
(Chorus)
Growing up sucks at least I got you
Growing up sucks I know we’ll get through
We’re not in a rush we’re not gonna get fooled
Growing up sucks but I know I’m with you
(Verse 2)
It was all so simple
Didn’t have to care about other people
Just you and me where do you wanna be
Pedal to the metal, set ourselves free
(Pre-chorus)
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
It’s gonna be a bumpy ride so hold on
No matter what happens, know that you’re golden
It’s time to go now, take my hand, don’t need to draw lines in the sand
We’ll just do the best we can
(Chorus)
