10 July 2013, Kuala Lumpur, Frigate has announced the launch of a free mobile-to-mobile VoIP and messaging application for iOS and Androids.
After months of testing the application is finally ready.
“We all love our mobile phones and the freedom they bring us, but we hate the high calling charges” says FriiApp spokesperson Mus Sharip. That’s why we set out to develop our really easy-to-use smartphone VoIP solution, as we know there will be universal appeal for such a thing – particularly if we gave it away for free and it enabled callers to make free calls on their mobiles. Users can also start group messages or just use the traditional one-on-one messaging. All customers need do is download the free application from the iOS or Android app store and start making calls for free to other FriiApp users. It couldn’t be simpler.
With no need for customers to subscribe to any pre-pay account or multi-service bundle, nor to key in prefix access codes to use the service, Frigate expects that the users will encourage their friends, family and co-workers to use FriiApp to save on call costs.
The company says it expects one of the most popular uses to be almost everyone from students to business travellers who spend much of their time making calls to friends and family. “They will now be able to make free calls anywhere in the world as easily as dialing directly over the networks, but without the costs involved. Our group messaging system also has the ability to include up to 50 people!” says Mus.
The application is up for download on the iOS and Android app stores.
