My experience of Luxurious Urban City living at Fraser Residence Menteng Jakarta

Jakarta is perhaps one of the most frequently visited capitals in the ASEAN region. And like most Malaysians I also have a soft spot for this city as it has so much to offer. From the countless choices of delicacies to the many shopping spots, I never get bored coming to Jakarta. But when it comes to places to stay, I am always very careful with my decisions since I would prefer to be somewhere central and easy to get around.

Centered amid the busy and fast-paced life found within the city of Jakarta in Indonesia, towers an extravagant and yet subtly serene place to stay known as Fraser Residence Menteng Jakarta. And being a regular reviewer of hotels around the world, I am aware of the strong presence and high standards of the Fraser brand. So when I was given a chance to experience a stay at this prestigious abode, I decided to make full use of my time there.

As it stands high at the popular city centre area of Menteng, this international-class accommodation is definitely the perfect lodging for those who seek some tranquility, and yet prefer to remain close to the city centre. It is just a few minutes’ drive from the famous H.I.

Roundabout area and the residence is located in a very convenient quarter surrounded by a myriad of shops, restaurants and business centres. It is also conveniently located nearby the famous Tugu Tani Monument where some tourists also flock to marvel at the architecture and steal moments to take pictures. Naturally, I found this to be very convenient for my parents and I as we obviously had places to go during our short stay in Jakarta. Since we were in a central area, we didn’t have a problem to call for public transportation and almost every taxi knew where the residence was (that was really great).

The property’s 128 fully spacious serviced apartments have been meticulously crafted, in keeping with the modern contemporary interior design styles. The suites are, in fact, equipped with a generous living room, an open kitchen, spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms as well as complimentary internet access complete with home entertainment systems including satellite TV channels. (There are various choices for the apartments, from studios, to one bedroom units right up to four-bedroom penthouse apartments.) My parents and I were fortunate enough to experience their two bedroom apartment unit which have a generous amount of space. The moment you walked in, you know you were stepping into a pad with class.

Naturally for guests who prefer to prepare their own meals, they can opt to do so as all the kitchens are fully equipped with kitchen utensils, plates and saucers, cooking pans and everything else that may be required. But since we were in the Menteng district which was famous for the street food, we decided to eat out during our stay when it came to lunch and dinner.

Besides that, the apartments also come complete with washing machines and even refrigerators. So if you need to store food and do some laundry, there is absolutely no need to worry.
Another interesting fact is that this residence is also one of the very few that are actually pet-friendly! That means those who have pets may bring along their beloved companions to accompany them during short or even long stays.

Like most hotels and service residences, Fraser Residence Menteng Jakarta also has other amenities including a a fully-quipped 24 hour fitness centre and gym. There is also a spa and sauna room for those who seek more in their moments of relaxation. For those who love to swim there is also a generously sized swimming pool for the convenience of the residence’s guests. So we had a chance to try out the pool in the evening and it was very pleasant.

Besides the apartments it is also an ideal venue for guests planning small to medium-sized social events or even small meetings with the provided function rooms and facilities.

We also had our complimentary breakfast provided by the hotel in a very nice and relaxing atmosphere at their F & B outlet called Relish. The breakfast spread had an array of humble yet healthy delights from a combination of basic international as well as local fare. And Relish does not open only for breakfast but is also available for all day dining. So we knew if we ever got hungry at any other time, we don’t have to trouble ourselves to go out and look for food.

Obviously, Fraser Residence Menteng Jakarta lived up to its name as a high-class residence in the busy quarter of Jakarta’s central area. The place made us feel right at home, and perhaps many would be tempted to extend their duration of lodging. (I know I was) Truly, this is no ordinary residence, as the ambience lingers on in my head reminding me to come back!
