FOOD NETWORK ASIA CELEBRATES FIRST BIRTHDAY IN KUALA LUMPUR
ANNOUNCES AUGUST PREMIERE OF UNIQUE EATS
Kuala Lumpur’s Neo Tamarind restaurant served as the party backdrop Tuesday night for Food Network Asia’s first Birthday party celebration. Among the celebratory toasts, Food Network Asia announced new programming launches including the August 1 premiere of the hit American series, Unique Eats. The hour-long gastro program is among the top ten highly-rated series on Cooking Channel in the U.S. and highlights America’s newest signature restaurants.
Unique Eats spotlights America’s most exciting and revolutionary restaurants. It’s the first look and the last word in everything extreme in food today. The locations range from high-end dining rooms to casual neighborhood treasures, and even roving eateries with no permanent addresses. Unique Eats seeks out the most amazing examples of modern dining across America.
“The series exemplifies everything that foodies love,” said Hud Woodle, Acting General Manager Food Network Asia. “From five star restaurants to quirky hole-in-the-wall establishments, Unique Eats does a fantastic job of going beyond the usual barbeque joints to show viewers what the real trends are in American food culture.”
Additional August premieres on Food Network Asia include:
• Food Network Challenge: Last Cake Standing – Six of the most successful Food Network Challenge All-Stars compete against one another to see who’s the best of the best. The person who makes it through the “Challenge” gauntlet will win $50,000, the biggest prize in the history of Food Network Challenge.
• Throwdown with Bobby Flay – Chef Bobby Flay is on a secret mission to challenge the best of the best. In each episode, one chef is made to believe that Food Network is shooting a profile of him for a show. Bobby shows up for a surprise visit and challenges the expert to an unexpected cook-off of his specialty, right then and there.
• Iron Chef America – Based on the Japanese cult classic, Iron Chef America pits some of this country’s favorite chefs against the inspired food wizardry of Iron Chefs Masaharu Morimoto and Hiroyuki Sakai, with a surprise final battle no Iron Chef fan will forget!
