TEMUAN TAKDIR telah mula ditayangkan di 58 pawangam serata Malaysia
A truly Malaysian story, TEMUAN TAKDIR by first-time director and producer Dhyan Vimal, received royal support for its premiere screening yesterday at The Gold Class Signature @ The Gardens here.
The film has been in the spotlight for its humanitarian efforts under ‘Project Dignity’, and for its storyline which gives viewers insights into the everyday lives of policemen, in addition to its subtle yet powerful message for peace that invokes personal responsibility.
The Gala Premiere and Special Screening was launched by the Royal Patron, Her Royal Highness Sultanah Kalsom of Pahang; who was joined by Friends to Mankind’s Patron, Yang Mulia Dato’ Paduka Noor Aini Datuk Abdullah, many members of the Malaysian royal families, corporate leaders and representatives, celebrities, Friends to Mankind’s international representatives, members of the media, sponsors, the production crew, friends and family members.
TEMUAN TAKDIR: A Malaysian film for Malaysians receives royal support
This first Malay feature film by Dhyan Vimal is the story of two dedicated police officer- brothers, ASP Tuan Roslan and Inspector Shariff who intelligently pursue the ‘Mastermind’ behind a security van heist. As they draw closer towards solving the crime of greed, the inevitable ‘takdir’ or fate makes its call and each must meet it. TEMUAN TAKDIR is truly a film that calls for action and personal responsibility in every Malaysian making it a timely production by Zazen Design & Production Sdn Bhd.
HRH Sultanah Kalsom of Pahang’s Royal Address states, “The foundation upon which Project Dignity is based lies on the premise of a transference of skills in which to create a better world,” before officially launching TEMUAN TAKDIR. The making of this film opened doors to many to learn a new skill and be a part of this industry. HRH added that, “Indeed a worthy and worthwhile undertaking, of which I am most proud to endorse and encourage.”
In the welcome address by Friends to Mankind Patron, Yang Mulia Dato’ Paduka Noor Aini Datuk Abdullah said, “While I commend each and every actor and crew member involved in TEMUAN TAKDIR, the one thing that has stuck in my mind is something both Mr. Dhyan Vimal and Dato’ Zahim Albakri repeatedly highlighted in many of their interviews – and that this was a production with an ensemble cast. Meaning that there was no one main lead actor as such, but that everyone’s role in the movie was equally important irrespective of the time they appeared on the screen. I totally agree.”
In his speech, Dhyan Vimal explained,
“The foundation of Friends to Mankind is to celebrate the best of humanity, to remind, awaken and to hold on to that which makes us human … the nature of us is to come together, to work together, to hold together the betterment of all.” He highlighted, “So many came together and worked not just for individual success but for the success of the whole, where so many have learned and gained much, and in this have added to themselves the dignity of sharing and giving and building a better world.” Before presenting TEMUAN TAKDIR to the Malaysian audience, he said, “the only word that I have seen that truly express what we have done here is the word ‘terima kasih’, which does not only simply mean thank you but which means please receive our love.” He acknowledged and thanked many who supported the making of this film; the production team, cast, crew, partners, sponsors and volunteers before recording his special appreciation to the Patron without whom he said, “We would have not touched this height and this grandness in this project.”
Key partners AirAsia Berhad and roKKi Wi-Fi are promoting this film as a complimentary in- flight entertainment. Group CEO, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes in his video speech congratulated Dhyan Vimal and his team by stating, “It’s fantastic that so many of his actors and crew in the movie are first-timers and that’s exactly what AirAsia is all about … we have created so many careers for people who never thought they’d reach where they did. I’m thrilled that this movie and what Dhyan is doing has given many people a chance.”
Guests for the gala premiere included En Azmir Mutalib, Senior Director of FINAS; Bon Zainal, prominent Malaysian designer who dressed the director and all the male actors for the night; Lisa Surihani, Yusry Abdul Halim, Deborah Henry, Ning Baizura, Jaclyn Victor and Shawn Rivera. Also present were Starbucks Coffee and many other key sponsors.
The Reviews
Following the special screening of TEMUAN TAKDIR, the director and cast were showered with rounds of applause and admiration.
The Royal Patron, HRH Sultanah Kalsom of Pahang stated, “I loved the movie, I was very much into it … I love it. It kept my attention all the time.” The reviews continued to be very positive and overwhelming with YAM Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz congratulating the Director for a great movie that was very well done with a good message; and YAM Raja Puan Mahkota Perak Raja Nazhatul Shima enthusiastically exclaimed, “I loved every part of it.” YM Che Puan Azrinaz expressed her admiration for this “first of its kind” initiative which was not just for profit but also help the film industry grow through the introduction of new talent.
TEMUAN TAKDIR will be screening in 58 cinemas nationwide on Thursday, 11 August 2016.
