Dream Cruises’ first cruise ship, Genting Dream, was honoured by the Japan Federation of Pilot’s Associations as the “Best Quality Ship 2017” during a special ceremony held in Tokyo, Japan on Friday, 22 June. This recognition is given to ships displaying superior accomplishments in terms of operations, navigation facilities and boarding facilities and is selected by pilots guiding vessels every year in Japan.
“We are extremely proud to be the recipient of this special award by the Japan Federation of Pilot’s Associations as the Best Quality Ship 2017 and to be the only cruise ship to hold this honour this year,” said Mr. Thatcher Brown, President of Dream Cruises. “This recognition is a testament to the dedication and tireless work of our Captain, crew and staff to maintain effective and efficient systems and procedures on board our vessels to ensure the comfort and safety of everyone travelling on Genting Dream and Dream Cruises.”
The award is given to vessels that fulfil the Japan Federation of Pilot’s Associations’ stringent qualifying criteria including comprehensive safety measures for boarding and disembarkation from the ship, a full array of up-to-date navigation instruments and main equipment used for pilot work and the performance and training of the ship’s captain and crew in terms of safe navigation operations.
