LOL Events & Livescape Asia is proud to present the world’s most enigmatic magician, David Blaine, live in Malaysia on 5th Sept 2014 in Stadium Negara, Kuala Lumpur. David Blaine is conventionally a street magician who is known for his mind blowing endurance stunts such as “Frozen in Time†in which he was frozen into a block of ice for 72 hours. Other stunts include “Above the Belowâ€, in which he went without food for 44 days and “Vertigoâ€, where he stood for 44 hours on a 22 inch platform. “Human Aquarium†involved submersion in a water-filled sphere for seven days, receiving air and food through tubes. In a dramatic finale, he failed in his attempt to break the world record for holding breath under water, while simultaneously escaping heavy chains.
His television specials have had huge ratings worldwide, his first David Blaine: Street Magic and David Blaine: Magic Man. His recent celebrity packed special
David Blaine: Real or Magic had Katy Perry, Will Smith & family, Harrison Ford, Breaking Bad duo Aaron Paul & Bryan Cranston, Ricky Gervais and many more marvel at his tricks.
David will now embark on his first Asia tour and will stage illusions and endurance stunts. He will take the audience on a journey in the 90 minutes performance where the audience will be left guessing if his act is REAL or MAGIC.

Modern Day Houdini: Catch David Blaine LIVE in KL
“Most believe that the greatest trick that a magician can do, is to convince the world that the impossible is real. But when the magic is real, yet seems impossible, that, is the greatest trick of all.†Tense. Mysterious. Inquisitive. Even more tense. In every video you watch involving this one man, these are the raw elements you’re guaranteed to experience. He speaks with an impeccable characteristic air as he approaches any group of unsuspecting people. He is one that keeps a steady and undisturbed aura when astonished and amazed chaos dances around him as he blows minds one by one as if he thrives on it secretly. This mystifying man has successfully grasped the world’s attention by the very core in a matter of seconds. This inscrutable gent that we speak of, is none other than celebrated American illusionist David Blaine.
Going Against The Current
“As a magician I think everything is possible. And I think if one person can do it, so can others.â€
With a slew of monikers and recognitions under his name, David Blaine blurs the lines between reality and illusion, with the ability to defy the laws of gravity and human logic and levitate himself before baffled onlookers. David is also an endurance artist, and is best known for his high-profile feats of endurance, which have broken several world records. One of them including a Guinness World Record for “Longest Breath Holdingâ€, by holding his breath underwater for a staggering 17 minutes and 4 seconds feat. Other incredible achievements that challenge the impossible and the human brain includes being buried alive for a week in a see-through coffin, spending more than a month suspended in a box by the River Thames in London and being encased in a block of ice for 63 hours.
Real Or Magic?
“As you get older, your odds drop down. But I’m betting against it.â€
Blaine’s thirst for betting against all odds to go to the extreme and his unrivaled skills to trick the mind has become his primary tools of the trade, and come this 5th September 2014, David Blaine will employ both with spellbinding flair. Producing scorching fire from within his physical body, confounding the minds of the audience encased in a world without the simple need to breathe without oxygen underwater, Real Or Magic will leave you perplexed and stunned as Blaine transforms society’s views on magic and illusion in the show. There was only one man in history who was able to perform this act, and he, however, died doing it. That man was Hungarian-American illusionist and household name within the magician community, Harry Houdini.
In a show about illusion and misdirection, who can believe anything? Stabbed, starved, pierced, burned, electrocuted, nearly drowned, levitated, and fallen from great heights, watching David Blaine perform magic up close and personal will leave you questioning what’s real, and what’s magic. 5th September 2014 will surely make for an intriguing and fascinating night, inspiring people to understand the impossible, and the magic from within.

Over the past decade, David Blaine has transformed the art of magic with challenges that have set new boundaries of human endurance and altered our perception of what is possible. At the same time, his intimate approach has stunned scores of unsuspecting people with a stripped down style all his own.
Blaine was born on April 4th, 1973 to Patrice White. His mother worked hectic hours at several different jobs, so David, an only child, spent his free time at a local library where
he discovered Houdini and the mesmerizing world of magic. David says magic opened his mind and his heart to the possibilities of life. Passion fueled his early career, as did the crushing loss of his inspiring mother to cancer.
Street Magic, a film documenting Blaine performing magic to strangers, aired on ABC in May of 1997. After the incredible success of that special, Blaine went on to perform one stunt after another, following in Houdini’s footsteps, to test himself and showcase the strength of will that he believes lies dormant in all of us.
On April 5th, 1999, for one week, Blaine was Buried Alive on Manhattan’s West Side. Then, on April 12th, 1999, after seven grueling days without food or room to move, David was lifted from the coffin and reborn into a world where millions of fans would permanently associate his name with magic and wonder.
From November 27th – 29th, 2000, he was entombed in a six-ton block of ice imported from a glacier in Alaska, emerging on a live ABC-TV special, Frozen in Time. Those present to witness his physical and mental state realized first-hand the undeniable danger and debilitating pain Blaine had endured. Recovering from the physical effects of that challenge, Blaine re-emerged with Vertigo, an art piece in the form of a 90-foot pillar in New York’s Bryant Park. For 36 hours Blaine stood 90 feet in the air as tens of thousands of fans gathered. On 21st May 2002, Blaine stepped off the 22-inch platform and plunged into the boxes below. In 2003, Blaine survived on water only for 44 days in a plexiglas box suspended over London’s Thames River. The of controversy that built from September 5th to his October 19th release – 60 pounds lighter – was nothing that the city of London had ever experienced and captured the imagination of the entire world. The New England Journal of Medicine published a report documenting the loss of one third of his total body mass.
In May 2006 David lived under water for seven days and nights – longer than any human being – in a glass sphere at New York’s Lincoln Center. More than half a million visitors from around the world visited David to lend their support. On May 8, millions of people tuned in to ABC-TV’s David Blaine: Drowned Alive and witnessed David hold his breath for 7 minutes 30 seconds, short of the world record of 8 minutes 58 seconds.
Never one to rest on his laurels, David attempted his next stunt, Revolution, in November 2006, in a charitable partnership with The Salvation Army and Target. David shackled himself into a gyroscope hanging 50 feet above an empty lot near Times Square, spinning constantly for two days. On Thanksgiving day, he broke free of his shackles and plunged 50 feet in another death-defying stunt. The next day, he took 100 children selected by the Salvation Army on a Target shopping spree, beginning a 30-day nation-wide tour where he performed good deeds for cancer patients, soldiers recovering from war wounds, children of prison inmates and Katrina victims in New Orleans.
On April 30, 2008, live on The Oprah Winfrey Show, David tried again to break the world record for holding his breath underwater in the same glass sphere he utilized in Drowned Alive. He exceeded even his own expectations, holding his breath for 17 minutes 4.4 seconds and clinching his first Guinness World Record.David will attempt his most challenging stunt to date on September 13, 2008 by striving to go without sleep for 11.57 days – 1 million seconds. Visitors from around the world can follow David’s progress 24/7 at Wollman Rink in New York’s Central Park.
