Livescape presents Dashboard Confessional Solo Acoustic Show

Dimmed lights, mass sing-a-longs and the presence of one man with his acoustic guitar was all it needed to create a successful debut for our Special RockawayFest Showcase featuring Dashboard Confessional. An estimation of 1, 500 concert goers made their way to witness Chris Carrabba work his magic on his guitar whilst serenading them with his soothing vocals.

Eager fans made their way as early as 5pm to KL Live to catch the best spots in the venue. The doors opened close to 8pm and it wasn’t too long until singer-songwriter Awi Rafael got on stage to begin his set as the supporting act. Awi, his guitar and another fellow guitarist set the right mood with their amazing acoustic set.

Awi captivated the audience with his own song, ‘Bila Aku Jatuh Cinta’ and some impressive covers like Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’, The Verve’s ‘Bittersweet Symphony’ and tracks from Kings of Leon and Radiohead.

Wasting no time to enthral his crowd, Chris Carrabba took over the microphone and began his set with ‘The Good Fight’. The crowd responded by singing along to his every word. The show ensued with Chris performing Dashboard Confessional classics which included ‘Screaming Infidelities’, ‘As Lovers Go’, ‘Stolen’, ‘Belle of the Boulevard’ and many more. The crowd went nuts when they heard the opening chords to ‘Vindicated’. You could hardly hear his voice over the hundreds of fans singing along to it.

The night ended with Chris belting out ‘Hands Down’ and ‘The Best Deception’ as the encore track. It was indeed an amazing night with an astounding performance by Chris Carrabba. It was so good that even the man himself said, “This has got to be one of the best show’s I’ve ever done”.
