Connecting family and friends this Ramadhan and Raya with Coca-Cola. Ramadhan and Raya are special periods in Malaysia – it is a time when family and friends come together to break fast, have a meal before they begin fasting or to celebrate the end of a month of fasting. Friendships are strengthened and family ties are deepened through the generations as people reconnect to share a drink and a meaningful meal.
This year, Coca-Cola is helping to make those connections more personal with cans and bottles that are specially designed to be shared, with festive greetings, messages and family names of endearment printed on them.
The eight limited edition can designs carry the greetings “Selamat Berbuka Puasa”, “Maaf Zahir dan Batin”, “Salam Ramadhan”, “Syukuri Nikmat”, “Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri”, “Eid Mubarak”, Terima Kasih” and “Kekalkan Persaudaraan”.
More options abound when you purchase the 1.5L PET Coca-Cola bottles that come with 24 different endearments on them, including “Mak”, “Ayah”, “Atuk”, “Nenek”, “Kakak”, “Abang”, “Adik”, “Pakcik”, “Makcik”, “”Pak Long”, “Mak Long”, “Pak Su”, “Mak Su”, “Member”, “Jiran” and “Bro”.
To make the personal connection even more special, consumers can create personalised Coca-Cola cans for their friends and loved ones at Coca-Cola roadshows. To redeem their can, consumers simply have to do is purchase a total of four 1.5L PET bottles of either Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, A&W, Heaven and Earth or Minute Maid Pulpy (including at least one bottle of Coca-Cola).
The roadshows will run for nine weeks from June 6 and will take place at 44 locations in the Klang Valley as well as in the North, South, East Coast and East Malaysia, at selected hypermarkets, including Giant, Tesco, Mydin, AEON and AEON BiG.
“These days people seem to connect more on social media and over their smartphones than in person. We wanted to create opportunities for more meaningful and personal connections this Ramadhan and Raya and Coca-Cola is the perfect catalyst for this. Whether it is with friends or family, sharing a bottle or a can of Coca-Cola with a special message will create lasting memories for people,” said Yvette Lim, Integrated Marketing and Communications Manager, Coca-Cola Malaysia.
Fans of Elfira Roy, Fizo Omar, Dayang Nurfaizah, and Black can also look forward to seeing them in Coca-Cola TV commercials and a special Coca-Cola music video collaboration with Media Prima that will air during Ramadhan and Raya.
