Beauty queens and ex-finalists descended upon Pavilion Elite on 8th July 2017 for the ‘Beauty Beyond YOU’ Roadshow and Meet & Greet with Miss Universe Malaysia Organization National Director, Datin Elaine Daly and Miss Universe Malaysia 2017 Samantha Katie James.
Pageant fans and aspiring beauties interested to participate in the auditions for Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 turned up at Pavilion Elite to catch their favourite beauty queens in person. Not only did they get to catch a glimpse of the stunning Rizman Ruzaini-designed evening gown on display, previously worn by Miss Universe Malaysia 2016 Kiran Jassal to the international Miss Universe pageant in Manila, Philippines, the attendees also took part in a series of fun activities lined-up for the day.

Fans also got to meet ex-finalists from the Miss Universe Malaysia 2017 pageant including 1st runner-up Dana Low, who was also the emcee for the event, 2nd runner-up Ollemadthee Kunasagaran and 3rd runner-up Laura Simon.
During the roadshow event, mini auditions were held throughout the day where applicants underwent a short photo session and recorded their introduction videos. A t the same time, make- up partner, Shu Uemura presented a beauty demonstration, followed by hair partner, Miko Galere who presented a hairdo transformation from day to night.
Members of the public gamely joined in to show off their hairstyling skills. A mini catwalk fashion show also took place where the Miss Universe Malaysia 2017 winners and finalists dressed in casual wear by CHAPS modelled the latest collection.
The ‘Beauty Beyond YOU’ roadshow event was held in collaboration with Mall Partner Pavilion Elite, Fashion Partner CHAPS, Hair Partner Miko Galere, Make-up Partner Shu Uemura, and Juice Partner Juiceee Malaysia.
Earlier last month on 17th June 2017, beauties from East Malaysia attended a closed door, walk- in audition held at Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu, the official hotel for the Sabah auditions, with support from local radio station KupiKupi FM for a chance to become one of the finalists of the Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 competition.
For those who missed out on the auditions in Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur, fret not, as the Miss Universe Malaysia Organization (MUMO) will be hosting a final round of walk-in auditions at Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur this month.
Interested applicants who have not sent in their applications are invited to walk-in from Saturday, 22 July to Sunday, 23 July 2017 between 10am to 6pm at Level 3, Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur for a closed door auditions with National Director, Datin Elaine Daly and guest judge, Deborah Priya Henry.
The walk-in audition is open to non-Muslim, Malaysian female citizens who have never been married, never been divorced, or have never had a child. She must be at least 18 years and under 26 years before 1 January 2018 in the year she wishes to compete, at least 168cm, and able to communicate in any of these languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin or Tamil.
Applicants will need to personify all the values and attributes of being a Miss Universe Malaysia, which includes confidence, strong work ethics, commitment, professionalism, talent, grace and beauty. They must also appear well-groomed with make-up and high heels, and bring along their original MyKad and a photocopy, along with three photos showing their face, a full-length shot and a mid-length shot.
The Miss Universe Malaysia title holder can expect a life-changing experience once she wears the crown. As Miss Universe Malaysia, she will carry the title wherever she goes, and automatically become a public figure. She will have a platform to brand herself and carry out what she is passionate about. In addition, she will also have opportunities to network with prominent, influential figures all over the world and work with leading industry players, and at the same time, be challenged emotionally, mentally and physically.
The crowned winner will have an opportunity of a lifetime to travel abroad and represent Malaysia at the Miss Universe pageant to be held in 2018. Additionally, she will also receive a cash prize of RM50,000 and sponsored prizes worth over RM150,000.
