ASTRO LAUNCHES NEW HD CHANNELS:
KIX HD & CELESTIAL MOVIES HD
ASTRO is once again pleased to announce the launch of two (2) new High Definition (HD) channels on 1st March 2012 – KIX HD (channel 729 , ASTRO), an action-packed channel showcasing the best of action, including mixed martial arts (MMA) tournaments, action series, movies, reality shows with a late-night block of thrilling movies, and Celestial Movies HD (channel 309, ASTRO), a world-class Chinese movie channel offering the latest Chinese blockbusters and other hit Asian movies first and exclusively in Malaysia. With the newly added KIX HD and Celestial Movies HD channels, ASTRO B.yond HD customers will now have access to a total of 18 HD channels.

KIX HD offers “Action by Day, Thrill by Night” in high definition. This March, brace yourself for a thrilling ride as KIX HD brings you the best in action, horror and suspense in HD. KIX HD will showcase a variety of adrenaline-pumping TV shows, such as the exclusive premiere of Korea’s highly rated action drama A Yaksa, a 12-episode epic series set in the Joseon era of Ancient Korea. Also, get ready for the extreme mixed martial arts fighting tournament series, DREAM 2012, a must-watch yearly MMA fight-fest staged in Saitama, Japan featuring the legendary Fedor Emelianenko vs. Japanese heavyweight star Satoshi Ishii. Movie buffs can also look forward to evenings of spine-tingling horror and thriller movies as well as International action blockbusters that will keep you at the edge of your seats.
On Celestial Movies HD channel, ASTRO customers on the ASTRO B.yond HD platform will enjoy the latest Chinese blockbuster movies from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan and other hit Asian films exclusively in HD. Celestial Movies HD will also feature fascinating behind-the-scenes programs and the latest entertainment news. Be sure to look out for exclusive TV premieres of the latest Chinese blockbusters on Celestial Movies HD, including The Sorcerer and The White Snake, Overheard 2, 1911, A Beautiful Life, My Kingdom and Virtual Recall. All ASTRO B.yond HD customers will have access to Celestial Movies HD for a limited period, by which it will only be available to New Emperor Pack customers (on ASTRO B.yond HD) at a later date.
With an overall offering of 18 HD channels now available on ASTRO B.yond HD, viewers can continue to enjoy the ultimate HD experience with our exciting selection of highly acclaimed international and regional programmes on the Astro B.yond HD platform.
