AIFFA 2015 Asean International Film Festival & Awards

The ASEAN International Film Festival And Awards (AIFFA) is a premier film festival, which made its debut in 2013. Held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, the biennial film festival celebrates the best of films around the ASEAN region. AIFFA 2013 saw more than 200 international personalities including Hollywood and Bollywood producers and directors, ASEAN film stars and those involved in the industry making a beeline to Kuching to ignite the ASEAN film spirit.

More than 300 media exposures throughout AIFFA 2013, valued at more than USD20 million, made its presence felt among the ASEAN public. Come 9 April 2015, a buzz of movie magic will be showcased in Kuching at the AIFFA 2015. It begins with the Tribal Welcome Nite, the unique ‘Movies In The Rainforest’ (a 12 hour movie marathon screened at the Sarawak Cultural Village), an enterprising ASEAN Film Mart for Business to Business networking and seminars for those who want to know more about the latest in film technology. It is also a great opportunity to network among the film fraternity.

The three day event culminates in the glamorous Gala Nite finale where international filmmakers gather to witness the best of the best film productions in the region. The films are judged by an ASEAN Jury and twelve categories of awards are presented. The spectacular show ends with the Spirit of ASEAN Award…a film that portrays the best of ASEAN people, culture and lifestyle. Another interesting award is the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to an ASEAN film personality who has broken the international barrier.

MOVIE MARATHON AND OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY ON 10th APRIL 2015 @sarawak CULTURAL VILLAGE

AIFFA2015 hosts the unique Movies In The Rainforest, a 24 hour film marathon in the acclaimed Sarawak Cultural Village. Film fans meet film makers and celebrities while enjoying films which are competing and selected by a team of jury comprising top film makers in ASEAN.

The film festival has been officially endorsed by all the ASEAN countries as the film festival for the region. The objectives of the festival are to recognize talents, build up the film industry and also to use film as a medium to know more about each other’s country, people and culture.

GALA NITE AND AWARDS 11th APRIL 2015 @bcck

The grand finale is the Gala Night, held at the beautiful Borneo Convention Centre Kuching on 11th April 2015. A glittering night awaits guests as celebrities announce the winners for the 12 categories of awards. To-date, more than 50 films have been received for the Awards. The spectacular show ends with the Spirit of ASEAN Award, a film that portrays the best of ASEAN.
