Malaysia’s Ser Ming Hui leads Malaysia’s charge at Achilles Formula Drift Malaysia 2011 at Dataran Merdeka
Ace driver and defending champion Daigo Saito on course for head to head battle with Manabu Orido in final
17 December 2011 (Kuala Lumpur) – Ser Ming Hui leads the Malaysian contingent against a field of world-class drivers at tomorrow’s Achilles Formula Drift Malaysia 2011 final knockout Round of 32 tomorrow at the Dataran Merdeka.
Ser, ranked eighth overall with 78 point, tops a list of 10 Malaysians who qualifies to compete tomorrow. Meanwhile defending champion Daigo Saito from Japan in the quarter-final, was the top ranked driver today with a total score of 94.5 points.
Japan’s Manabu Orido, in his first drift appearance in Malaysia, also impressed the crowds with his scintillating performance today, placing him second in the leading pack of contenders for the knockout Round of 32 tomorrow. It sets up a potentially exciting finale of two of the best drift riders in the world.
A stellar line-up of 44 regional and international drift riders thrilled excited drift fans at the historical Dataran Merdeka. The top 32 drivers will compete for the top prize and a spot on the podium in tomorrow’s final.
The Round of 32 will kick off tomorrow at 12.30pm, and will see exciting head-to-head tandem driving between the world-class drift riders. The drivers will battle each other in a knockout format to claim the Malaysian leg title.
Some of the activities tomorrow also include an autograph signing session with top international drivers like defending champion and current leader Daigo Saito, ace driver from Thailand, Kiki Sak Nana, and series debutant Rulli Armando from Indonesia.
