HISTORYTM and Astro Host Appreciation Concert in Memory of Tan Sri P. Ramlee

Celebrities and fans come together to honor the legendary screen icon

Kuala Lumpur, 24 October 2010 – AETN All Asia Networks which owns and operates the channel HISTORYTM in Malaysia, together with Astro, hosted an appreciation concert tonight entitled “Konsert Penghargaan P Ramlee Di Mana Kan Ku Cari Ganti” in tribute of the belated screen legend Tan Sri P. Ramlee.

The concert was held as part of Astro’s month-long campaign celebrating the many inspiring talents of the belated superstar, and also in anticipation of the premiere of P Ramlee, an original production chronicling the inspiring life of the beloved icon of the silver screen, which will premiere on HISTORY (Astro Channel 555) on 31 October 2010 at 9.00pm.

Held in collaboration with Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, tonight’s event gathered a string of established names in the music industry including Dato’ Sharifah Aini, Ning Baizura, M Masir, Ella, Yuna, Misha Omar, Amy Search, Jacklyn Victor, Haziq, Vince, Aizat, Altimet and Hujan who performed cover versions of songs made popular by the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee.

Over 600 guests attended the event, including celebrities and personalities such as Umi Aida, Vee, Sazzy Falak, Atilia and Tiara Jacqueline.

Konsert Penghargaan P Ramlee Di Mana Kan Ku Cari Ganti will air on RIA, HISTORY HD (Astro Channel 575) and PRAMLEE HD (Astro Channel 188) on 29 October 2010 at 9.00pm, and again on HISTORY (Astro Channel 555) on 30 October 2010 at 9.00pm.
