Maxis Berhad (‘Maxis’), Malaysia’s leading integrated communications provider, today launched its new health portal at Epicure Malaysia 2010, the country’s leading lifestyle fair which is in its sixth year. Maxis’ new health portal, Pocket Doctor, offers Maxis customers a one-stop information centre on a wide range of health topics.

It is the world’s first health reference mobile service, offered on multiple platforms including the internet, WAP and SMS and designed to be accessible, easy to use, and highly professional. Pocket Doctor is powered by a reputable firm based in the United Kingdom and local medical sources of information.
At the launch event today, T. Pocket Doctor offers services such as daily tips, special features, health news, health encyclopedia, health polls, symptoms analyzer, first aid information, sexual health information and a body mass index (BMI) calculator. Customers may enjoy the Pocket Doctor on their mobile phones by typing “ON DOC” and sending to 26100.
They benefit from a 30-day free trial after which they will be charged RM3 every 30 days. Maxis has set up a special booth at Epicure Malaysia 2010 to demonstrate features of its new health portal and other services. Customers who are interested may visit the booth at the Sime Darby Convention Centre from 17 to 19 September 2010. Admission to Epicure Malaysia 2010 is free. Customers who subscribe to Pocket Doctor at the event enjoy a 60-day free trial, instead of the usual 30-day free trial.
