It is a wrap and the best songs of 2016 were announced. A total of 1,500 fans turned up for the LIVE screening of Anugerah Juara Lagu 31 (AJL31) and the red carpet event at Golden Screen Cinemas, Dataran Pahlawan, Malacca on 22nd January 2017. AJL31 being the most awaited musical event of the year proved that it is still a phenomenon by reaching over half a million users on social media.
Apart from the numerous support at the venue, Malaysia’s No. 1 Online Video Streaming Portal, tonton, garnered over 150,000 live stream video views on tonton.com.my, it’s mobile apps and official Facebook (@tontonmy) for AJL31 and had an amazing 30% increase in online viewership compared to last year.

Before the screening commenced, AJL31 buffs watched famous celebrities dressed to the nines strut their stuff down the red carpet at 8.00pm. Among the top personalities who made an appearance for the night included Redza Rosli, Zamarul Hisham, Ruhainies, Mimi Lana, Puteri Aishah, Dazrin Kamarudin, Mustaqim Bahadon, Forteen, Abam Bocey and Raja Afiq. The segment was helmed by Liza from Kool FM and Hefny Sahad.

A total of four halls in GSC Dataran Pahlawan were closed off to cater for tonton VIP users and fans of the prominent awards show.

In fact, that time around, tonton users had the golden opportunity of dining with their favourite stars and got up close and personal with them.
AJL31 witnessed the triumph of local legend Dayang Nurfaizah with ‘Lelaki Teragung’ who also won Best Vocals. Second place went to Misha Omar & Hafiz with ‘Terimaku Seadanya’ and third place to the newcomer Projector Band with ‘Sudah Ku Tahu’. Not to mention the utter brilliant performance by Khalifah with ‘Hang Pi Mana’ who won Best Performance.
