PRODIGEE MEDIA and WEBTVASIA are proud to present the first ever WebTVAsia Awards 2015, bringing together the best and most popular creators from 12 Asian nations to vie for honours for the best online content, and to celebrate the explosive growth of Asia’s top online creators for their achievements.
With the theme of “Celebrate Asia”, Asia’s first-ever regional level Digital Creator awards will witness more than 30 awards to be presented during the show honouring the top content creators and influencers from participating nations which include China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

WebTVAsia Awards 2015 is an unprecedented regional, digital entertainment event, guaranteed to immerse YouTube viewers across the world, especially in Asia. Accessible to more than one billion people worldwide, YouTube has become the home to both recognized artistes and the launching pad for the next generation of talents in various disciplines, and it is an honour for a Malaysian outfit to host the event, in our own country.
Prodigee Media founder and Group Chief Executive Officer Fred Chong said it was high time for the region to have its own digital awards to recognize the growing industry in this part of the world.
“With their belief that it’s time for something like this, hopefully this will serve as a catalyst Asian content producers to go beyond their own shores and expand throughout the region and the world.
“Apart from the awards to recognize the content creators who have all made it big, whether locally, regionally or even internationally – there will also be a forum for Asian and global Multi-Channel Networks (MCNs) and creators to network, as well as to share on how they can elevate their content and approach as well as to discover trends and share relevant know-how.”
Kicking off the event that coincides with Prodigee’s 10 anniversary, will be the WebTVAsia Creators Forum 2015 from 9am to 12pm at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Center where top MCNs and filmmakers will congregate in a unique sharing session with YouTube creators to network, and also to impart their knowledge and reveal the tricks of the trade.
The WebTVAsia Awards 2015 will begin celebrations with the the red carpet event at 6pm, before the actual awards ceremony where each country will have five nominees vie for individual country honours as Most Popular Channel and Most Popular Video in their respective country categories.
Other honours up for grabs include Channel of The Year, Song of the Year, Breakout Creators of the Year, as well as the Spirit of Mankind Award for the most unique video that resonates a positive message or cause throughout Asia, or the world.
WebTVAsia Awards 2015 will also offer two special honours to brands, advertisers and agencies for Campaign of the Year and Brand of the Year.
The WebTVAsia Awards 2015 will be hosted by Malaysia’s own JinnyBoyTV and Kandy (Hong Kong), with the biggest Asian YouTube stars and mainstream performers onstage such as Namewee, Najwa Mahiaddin and Amir Jahari (Malaysia), SNH48 (China), The Viral Fever (India), Mikey Bustos (Philippines), Last Day Production (Indonesia), LadyBaby (Japan), Awesome Hauen (Korea), Wah!Banana (Singapore), Bie the Ska (Thailand) and many more to be announced.
The WebTVAsia Awards 2015 is a special by-invite only, formal black tie affair, but can be viewed via live streaming exclusively on WebTVAsia’s Youtube channel at https://www.youtube.com/WebTVAsia.
