Disney telah mengumumkan kepada peminat dan pembaca novel Narnia bahawa Disney akan mengadaptasikan ke semua novel ke dalam bentuk filem. Semuanya ada 7 siri novel. Adaptasi pertama “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” telah diterbitkan dalam bentuk filem pada tahun 2005. Mungkin penulis novel Narnia C.S Lewis (anak kelahiran Belfast, Northern Ireland) akan menerima keuntungan besar dan menjadi jutawan sebagaimana yang diterima oleh penulis novel Harry Potter, JK Rowling.
The Cronicles of Narnia adalah antara satu siri daripada 7 siri novel fantasi kanak-kanak berbentuk klasik yang telah laris sehingga 100 juta naskah dalam 41 bahasa. Novel Narnia ditulis oleh Lewis antara tahun 1949 hingga 1954 dan ilustrasinya dilukis oleh Pauline Baynes.
Tujuh novel Narnia ialah:
- The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950)
- Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia (1951)
- The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952)
- The Silver Chair (1953)
- The Horse and His Boy (1954)
- The Magician’s Nephew (1955)
- The Last Battle (1956)
Filem ini telah dikelaskan sebagai PG oleh MPAA atas unsur pertarungan dan detik-detik menakutkan. Dilakonkan oleh James McAvoy, Tilda Swinton, Skandar Keynes, Anna Popplewell, Georgie Henley dan William Moseley. Edisi seterusnya “Prince Caspian” dijadualkan akan menemui peminat pada bulan Mei 2008. Anda peminat filem Narnia? Tunggu sahaja 2 tahun lagi.
