Alessandro Baldieri’s newest collection, the Magnum, is a mighty presence in both form and function. Watchmaker, Alessandro Baldieri, was an interior designer for 20 years before venturing into the world of horology. A key characteristic of Baldieri’s creations is their size – the brand’s watches range from 46mm to 53mm in diameter. Additionally, with each of his designs, an emphasis is placed ondesign, materials, colours, qualities and pricesbeing well-balanced.
Baldieri’s latest collection, the Magnum,is no exception.Inspired by the Italian military diver watch, the Magnum comes with a signature image of a gorilla engraved on itscaseback. Despite its military diver watch inspiration, the mighty gorilla was selected as the icon for the Magnumfor two reasons: (1) it is the most powerful vegetarian in the world; and (2) it is a peace lover. Baldieriis not keen to associate the watch with war, guns or violence; hence, the decision to have the powerful, peace-loving vegetarian featured on the caseback.
The Magnum has what it takes to be a true diver watch with features including the K1 hardened mineral glass that is anti-reflective, 20 ATM water resistance and a 120-click rotating bezel for better countdown accuracy. The simplicity of the dial and the large luminous hands also allow the watch owner to read the time easily with a quick glance. The watch is powered by an in-house automatic movement derived from a Japanese movement as the base.The 48mm angled cutting-edge design casing is sandblasted-finished by hand.
Baldieri is a creative man full of passion for his designs and with a strong eye for detail. These traits are reflectedin his choice of top quality saddle leather straps, which are hand-stitched with thread colour chosen to match the case colour. As a further mark of distinction from other watchmakers, all Baldieri watches come in a leather pouch which can be reused for other purposes.

After 20 years of being in the interior and furniture design industry, Baldieri decided to venture into the watch line. His creative flair, love of luxury and keen eye for detail led him to the world of watches. Baldieri has offices in Milan, London and Singapore.
