Celebrate the upcoming Mooncake Festival as 8TV brings you Elixir Of Love. The romantic comedy about a young princess who has been cursed with SARS (Severe Atypical Reeking Syndrome) or in simpler terms bad body odor, is on the lookout for her true love, whom she hopes is capable of curing her illness as well. Miriam Yeung, the Princess of China and also the first female ever born after a long time into the male dominated royal line. After she reaches a marriageable age, the Emperor puts up an offer to any men who is capable of curing the Princess curse. Among the many participants, only two are selected – the cultured and snobby doctor, Liu Heng, and the poor aromatherapy expert, Kai. Both of them are given three months to find a solution and whoever wins the competition will win the hand of the princess and have a right to presume higher status in the country. Follow the journey of Monk Tripitaka and his three pupils as they wander the west to collect Buddhist scriptures. While stopping in the City of Shache, they are attacked by the evil of tree the demon who eventually captures his three pupils. Tripitaka is also then captured by the King of reptiles and placed under the care of Meiyan. Meiyan, and ugly character falls in love at first sight with Tripitaka. She even goes to the extent of setting up a love trap to capture Tripitaka’s attention. Tripitaka slowly falls into the trap, however luck is on his side when an alien princess comes to his rescue. Meiyan decides to help and team up with the princess to rescue Tripitaka pupils. The region is full of monsters, strange beings and unknown creatures – among them is the beautiful Princess XiaoShan and her army. On a passing journey to Earth, Tripitaka decides to leave with the Princess, leaving Meiyan broken hearted. How will Tripitaka deal with this love triangle?
